Just bought a new Blackberry Pearl

go to "phone settings " menu and make sure you set it on your phones provider only .""not on automatic" .or your roam charge could break the bank on data usuage make sure your provider included unlimited data on hyour plan to surf web . decline offers for extra servives or u have hard time getting them off your bill each month even if you cancel them like, tv usage .. these things are tuff at first not for beginners ..i got the smart phone blackberry ..

You can get any questions answered on alot of these forums and pick up helpful tips and shortcuts. Once you figure it out, you won't want anything else. If used correctly, it can be a great tool.

Ditto! I have a blackberry curve and I did NOT want it! I needed a new phone and the curve was being offered at a great deal, so hubby got it for me. I was afraid to touch the thing for weeks! Never cared AT ALL for the cell phone craze. I finally bit the bullet and started playing with it - figuring it out - now I would never want another phone! I absolutely LOVE it. Give it some time - don't be scared of it - play around with it and figure out all the things that you can do with it - you'll be hooked!

If you want a phone, buy a phone. If you want a complicated gadget to screw around with, don't complain when you have trouble making "phone calls" with it.
