Anonymous Coward User ID: 11168016 ![]() 02/20/2012 03:41 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Curious if any GLP's have used these Solar Generators.... I am interested to hear comments if it's of any quality. The unit would be used in Central Oregon - high desert area, plenty of sun during the winter and summer. Quoting: Bowhuntress For those of you interested.... I think they're scamming people who aren't educated about solar panels. They're expensive, don't get me wrong, but for a homemade system you can save two thirds the purchase price. This article has links to a comparable system. [link to greensolarpowerpanels.com] They also make you think the thing will run your whole house and that your getting a bargain. The truth is that they're selling you a 90 watt solar panel with a small marine battery. It will power your fridge while the sun is out then run for 2 hours till the battery charge is gone. |

We're Sound Wisdom Life Products. Or, if you have one and just hate it, we offer a trade-in on them for our SG-1 5,000 Watt Solar Generator system. Some companies want more money for their systems, some want more customers. We want more customers. We put you in control of your power. |

You have to buy the storage batteries seperately. I have seen solar panels on there for as low as 88 cents a watt. If you want portable power you can buy a Xantrex 1500 unit. They go for as low as 360.00 on Amazon. They have about 60 Amp Hours in the battery. It will hook into the solar bank to recharge. A lot of these websites will say 1800 watts. But they are referring to the max output of the inverter. Not the charging watts. CHARGING WATTS IS WHAT COUNTS. Check out Sun Elecs solar packages at: [link to www.sunelec.com] |

He ran a 28 cu foot fridge for several days with the panel outside the garage. I was impressed. Worth a look if you are still looking for one. It has a 300 watt panel and keeps the thing running great. |
