Feel free to sidetrack this thread, I have always had an aversion to Sitchin's efforts - because I still think that Anunnaki is an incorrect translation and it is Ayuvwa(ki).
Anunnaki is not a translation. It's an alphabetized/phonetic of the cuneiform. Transcribed from Akkadian, the pronunciation of which was known.
What leads you to believe that the cuneiform for Anunnaki is incorrect? What is the breakdown of the individual Sumerian words contained in Ayuvwaki? AY.UV.WA.KI? A.YUV.WA.KI?
