Christians: how are you preparing for the rapture?
There IS a rapture to come. Read more here:
[link to contenderministries.org]

and here

this is NOT a discussion of whether a rapture will occur. This is NOT a discussion or pretrib or post trib. Rather, it is a discussion of how people are preparing physically, mentally, emotionally, and most important: spiritually. Hat tip to Avian who described this idea in a secular sense on his thread
Thread: Dollar End$ its Reign - Death on the Potomac

I know the rapture will be soon. I read & understand the end times verses in the bible and believe when Jesus said when you see these things, look up for your redemption draws nigh. So I am looking up. But as ecstatic as I am about His soon gathering of His church, it still takes a toll on me to think I am leaving behind my family, my cats to starve in my house, the beautiful earth (I know there will be a new one but it's hard to conceive it.)

I have had a two years heads up. I can't imagine how hard saying goodbye must be to others who are just waking up to the reality of saying goodbye. There is a great sense of joy but also of loss.

Anyway, what I am doing is, I make sure my cats always have a full water bowl, and there's a huge bag of food wrapped in a garbage bag under my bed, instead of in the closet. I know they can tear thru the bag when they get hungry enough. I have given away most of my things that I did not need or use, so others can use them in the near term. I witness with more urgency to my unsaved family. I know tribulation will come, the bible is not clear on exactly when the rapture will take place, so I am readying my finances, and I stocked up on a few months' supply of food. I figure, either I can use it when the dollar craps, or if I am raptured, then marauding bands of hungry left behinders will stumble upon is and then can eat.

Those are a few of the things I am doing to prepare.

So, what are you all doing?

Just waiting for the long-promised -- but forever delayed -- events and Divine Justice to start in earnest.

Until then, no sense in getting all worked up for nothing.

This could take a few decades to play out, and I will be long dead.

do you see, though it's long delayed, that things are speeding up? Or do you see no difference? What's your take?

I thought we were getting close during the economic crisis of the late 70's/early 80's. That economic crisis was followed by the greatest economic boom of all time. I learned my lesson then, and I won't be fooled again.

Until I see CONSISTENT UNPRECEDENTED global natural disasters, a TOTAL economic collapse, installation of a NWO, or a nuclear WORLD WAR 3, I don't think the rapture is soon nor imminent.

While you are preparing for the Rapture, I am preparing for the Harvest of the Tares. According to scripture, they are the ones who get "caught up" first and are burned into the fire. I am also preparing for the great "latter day rain" pouring out of the Holy Spirit as prophesied by the book of Joel.

If you are truly a student of the Bible, then surly you would be preparing for these events first since they are chronologically first on the prophetic calander.

Re: Christians: how are you preparing for the rapture?
We should prepare by watching.....

From now on there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but to all them also that love his appearing.

We should prepare by living according to His standards.

Even now, little children, abide in him. Then, when he appears, we will have confidence and will not turn away from him in shame when he comes.

Hi, Pretty cool post! You know, I really never thought of that aspect before. My wife and I have 3 cats that are indoor/outdoor and if we get caught-up when the cats are inside... Wow, guess the bag under the bed is a real good tip! As for the goodbyes and other things??? Thank you for the post. Guess we have some preping to do, on top of all the preping for "other" things coming down the pipe.

I am truly a student of the bible and I am doing what the bible says to prepare. Let's not get into a 'I am more Christian than you' tit for tat so early in the discussion, OK?

And, as a student of the bible, I also know that the timetable on many things is not explicit.

Winged, how are you preparing?

The Rapture took place in 2005. The raptured were replaced with exact doubles in the twinkling of an eye. Your religious grandmother went to the clouds too fast to see her. She was replaced by an exact double in less than a tenth of a second. You couldn't even notice it.

The primary Scripture passage on the rapture is 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18. It states that all living believers, along with all believers who have died, will meet the Lord Jesus in the air and will be with Him forever. The rapture is God removing His people from the earth. I hope there are not only 100,000 believers! LOL, that would be an epic tragedy.

If you are a believer are you worried that you were not taken?

I was thinking that maybe we are taken in groups. What is your take on that?

A friend says that when a whole plane crashes or a bus load of people die, that is a group being taken.

well...what I read is that the church is removed before the antichrist is revealed. That the gospel has been spread to all but 5 nations (Gideons International figures ( [link to www.gideons.org]

that Babylon must first be rebuilt to be destroyed and that occurs in the Tribulation, toward the very end, and saints put to death in the street (though the bible says they are beheaded for Christ but not where) happens also toward the end after the rapture.

In stead of many prophecies unfulfilled (which occur late in the chronology, I see that many ARE being fulfilled now, as Jesus outlined in the Mount Olivet Discourse and also outlined in 2 Peter, James, and Timothy. I have a different perspective than you, I guess!

You have proven that the Rapture's "immanance" is different than the Second Coming.

Rapture = Clouds
SC = Foot on mountain

Rapture = imminant and unknowable
SC = exact day is given from antichrist's covenant by Daniel.

Rapture = Comming to get saints
SC = Jesus comming WITH saints.

The bible teaches us to prepare: by looking up, by not being deceived, by standing strong, by putting on spiritual armor, by prophesying, by testing the prophets, by not hating the prophesies, by leaving those who are deceptive......lots of commands given to us in various New Testament books, in order to get ready.

A Christian gives control over to Jesus and then we follow His commands.
