My teachers and my church taught me to fear God, in the sense of being afraid of Him. If I let any bad thought into my head or do any bad thing like sin, God will send me to Hell for eternity. Fear in the literal sense, not the figurative sense of "awe" was definitely what was intended. By being mindful of God and his wrath, and fearing it I would avoid doing all the things I was not supposed to do.



If you live by the sword you will die by the sword! If this is the god they believe in - this is the god they will get! I would want NOTHING to do with such a god! This god is from the very place you fear and feeds off your fear - I renounced this god and all its works and ways years ago and surrendered to Divine Love. This is the God Jesus taught about, this God of divine Love was the one Jesus referred to as Father. If you read the words of Jesus and these words alone, you will discover this God. You too will are able to call him Father for he loves you, you are His child!
