"Geoengineering is the intentional manipulation of the global environment to combat climate Change.
Scientists have come up with very radical ideas,some tending towards science fiction,to engineer the global climate and combat global warming.Some of those ideas include:

1. Enhancing clouds to reflect more light into space.

2. Fertilizing oceans with iron minerals to encourage the growth of marine algae and phytoplankton that capture vast quantities of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere.

3. Installing mirrors in space:this involves launching a constellation of free flying aircraft between the sun and the earth that reflect back light towards space.

4.Protecting melting glaciers by wrapping them with reflective blanket in places like Greenland.This blanket will reflect heat and slow down the melting of glaciers thus slowing down the effects of climate change.

5.A scientist at Columbia University has designed a machine that can take up carbon dioxide emitted by 15000 cars.It is estimated that 250,000 such machines would remove as much carbon dioxide from the atmosphere as the world is currently emitting!
