Mount Spurr, 80 miles west of Anchorage across Cook Inlet, shook itself from a 12-year sleep in early July and has been in Code Yellow status ever since, with daily small earthquakes.

Code Yellow indicates an eruption is possible and could occur with no warning, according to the Alaska Volcano Observatory.

I lived in the Rat Islands for a while, Mt Sitka
expelled steam nearly every day, no big deal! Many
"active" volcanoes around the world, sometime one
will erupt. Donīt live near a volcano!

I love Sitka. Saw some great fights at the Pioneer Bar. Stayed on Middle Island at the Mayors house.

Re: Watch Alaska Pop
I think itīs a good idea for everyone to learn of the various types of volcanos and what they can do. All volcanos are not the same, and many which look threatening are less threatening that those that look like they could do minimal damage.

Here is a good site to begin learning about the various types, what they do, and the damage that can be caused by them.
