To varying degrees, a stereotype is ALWAYS based upon truth. It's how far that truth is distorted when real harm is done.

I can read the flies buzzing around the child as a point about the abject poverty and poor sanitary conditions of the African people. Quite a difference from other perceptions posted here. That's a unique part of Cohen's comedic style... he'll give you food for thought along with that little chuckle many people are embarrassed to admit making when watching his films.

Have you been to the areas in Africa where the majority of the adoptions happen? There are insects buzzing around the people. And the people are primarily black.
