Hey, I use a small amount of solar cells with my RV and I can have power indefinetly as long as I conserve. For a house it is way too expensive. Wind power might be the way to go to get off the grid! Maybe with a bit of solar to help out! Just thinking! Fishing and skiing keeps me a little sane. |

Solar is getting affordable if you're creative with your appliances and HVAC. Where I am, with passive solar in the winter and no AC in the summer, I can get by with 2Kw wind/solar combined.
