Re: Salt Lake City, Utah is the New Jerusalem
OP, why do you believe New Jerusalem is anyplace on Earth? New Jerusalem is a higher dimension that we meet.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 594943

For some reason people have a tough time understanding that what happens here in our dimension is a reflection of its counterpart.

Take for instance the religious chapter in the Zeitgeist movie. The movie attempts to prove that Jesus Christ never existed. It does this by showing how astrology influenced the story of Christ in the Bible. They do a splendid job of debunking the physical life of Jesus.

Let's assume for a moment that the information in this movie is correct. Why would it be so difficult to believe, that what happens in the heavens could possibly mirror the events on Earth as well. After all, we were created in his image. In this matter both could be true.

Salt Lake City being built with the intent of being the New Jerusalem could very well happen here as it does in Heaven.

What I was thinking, is that with construction of the Mormon temples, they may have succeeded in creating a conduit between Heaven and Earth.

Re: Salt Lake City, Utah is the New Jerusalem
I grew up in Bountiful which gets it's name from the Book of Mormon and experienced the strange activety on CB channel six.

At the time I was living in one of Brother Brighams old residences. I called it the fort because of it's thick walls and built me an R2D2 using a commodore 64 with a speach synthesizer. Action Jackson would often be on late at night and claim that he was calling from Louisiana. Is that still going on?

This was before the Bountiful Temple was built. If you have a chance go to the visitors center at the downtown Salt Lake Temple.

I am listening to an Apostle as I write this that is speaking at general conference. Conference addresses are archived on lds.org and the current proceedings will be available in a couple of days.

Wow, thats an interesting story.

Are you talking about this building in Bountiful?
[link to www.lds.org]

That is one of the "newer" temples they have built.
I have heard that the Temple Spires could symbolically, be power transmitters of a sort. And that based on the amount of spires is the symbolic "power" of said temple.

I live in SLC and have used a CB, though mostly while 4wheeling with friends in the desert. I will try this CB test on channel 6 sometime soon. Could be interesting.

I can not validate anything regarding a satinist designing a temple. I wonder if there is a way to actually research it. Could of been a very sarcastic Non Mormon or wacko mormon just pulling your leg. LOL... But, having it closed...maybe it was late at night? I don't know. The lights are always on...on those temples.

LOL...still chuckling about the rain part.

No, this was not a very big temple at all, I remember it being made of wood. It looked very old and in bad repair. I'll try to look it up! I also noticed that no signal would come through next to conventional FM antennas, towers, etc.. Only temples.

Maybe it was one of their stake centers or churches? An old one. There are a lot of "old" mormon buildings. Still find your story interesting. It just that the Bountiful Temple was actually featured in an article in Nat'l Geographic about the disappearing night sky because of how blindingly lit up and white it is. LOL. So, I couldn't imagine your imagery.

Hi, Just wanted to emphasize your suggestion of what happens here mirrors the other side...
This is strongly believed from what I have been able to gleen. In the Temple Sealing Rooms, they have the Double Sided Mirrors because the Reflections go on and on forever and eternity and they are practicing the belief of Eternal Marriage.

You will see lots of "reflective" imagery.
Here is one of the SLC Temple.

So you were actually able to follow those broadcasts on channel 6? I was there back in 2000, and the guys sounded like southern truckers, sometimes speaking in complete gibberish.

I didn't mention this earlier, but when my buddy and I hit Barstow on our way back from Cali, we heard this crazy wild, Guy talking fast in what sounded like tounges. At the end of a long line of strange talking I could make out that he said Out of Honolulu Hawaii. Me and Matt refered to him as the wild man.

I heard this guy all the way back to Bountiful. I didn't understand how my crummy CB radio could be getting signals from Hawaii.

So far, you are the only one that has heard these broadcasts. I guess I'm making too much of them, it just seemed very strange that I would get clearer reception when approaching an LDS tabernacle.

Cool pics, thanks. The construction of these temples is out of this world. Absolutely amazing. It's obvious that they intended each one to be perfect. Does the number of temples in Utah have any correlation with the number of churches in Revelations? I count 13 major Utah temples, but I know that each one has a purpose.

Good thing I orgoned pretty much the entire Salt Lake City Valley.

Man, I really want to go back. Believe it or not, I actually very much ENJOYED living in Utah...

But the thing about people flocking to SLC during the tribulation....they better think twice about that, because if water is truly going to be scarce in the future SLC is a freaking DESERT! There isn't very much fertile land there...

You are dead wrong. Utah has over 5 million acres of arable land and over 11 million acres of farmland. With a population of just over 2 million, there is more than enough farmland to feed every resident of utah and then some!

Did you only visit the southern part? Southern & Northern Utah are like night and day.

Did you know that there is a mountain near SLC with a sescret entrance. Inside of this impenetrable fortress are the records (on microfiche) of nearly everyone who ever lived?

[link to www.ancestorhunt.com]

Solid Granite, thanks to the mountains that surround the valley. When you drive up to Snowbird to go skiing, you will pass the rather large locked gate with a road travelling upwards towards a large opening in the mountain with heavy doors.

That's the place.

Zec 12:3 And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people: all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it.
Psa 9:17 The wicked shall be turned into hell, [and] all the nations that forget God.
Jer 6:2 I have likened the daughter of Zion to a comely and delicate [woman].
STOCK UP NOW. You should have at least 6 months worth of basics for every member of your household. Stay away from crowds when trouble starts, do not forget water storage, tobacco is worth more than gold or silver, and be kind to hungry children.

I don't know why if we are God's children that we shouldn't metamophasy like a caterpillar becoming butterfly.

The burning of ones burning is only one of the tender mercies of the Lord

1945 knows full well that he/she fit a revealed pattern in a most exact way, which too is another divers way by which devine intervention is enacted.

Seek aka search "Math" and/or "Probabillity" and ye shall see.

Abraham had a plurality of wives as did David. An article of LDS faith is that we obey the laws of our land.

The Mormon church does provide many answers were many religions leave blanks as they do not benifit from the RESTORED gospel.
