Dogs are great. My 1 year lab just for the first time, working in tandem with the 4 year old boy, helped me put the chicks in the coop. He had this squirly look on his face. Dam smart.

A friend of mine had a dog that did just that! There was a rope on the frig door and he put the bottles or cans laying flat on bottom shelf.

The damn dog would go get one when told to. Only draw back - slobber on beer. Also, sometimes he'd drop one.

He'd pour just a little bit into a bowl for a reward. The dog loved it. I guess a little bit won't hurt it. That dog passed away of old age and he was never able to train another to do it.

I have a little blind teacup toy poodle. I inherited her from my mother a couple of years ago. She has become very attached to me.

She had a gall bladder/liver infection last year that almost killed her and the vets wanted to put her out of her misery because most of her liver was destroyed and she was barely alive. I took her out of the intensive care instead and nursed her back to health. That's when I first learned about nutritional healing and how little effort doctors put into actually solving problems. If you feed the right things, the liver can almost totally regenerate from nothing.

She's lost her vision because she wasn't producing peptic acid properly and to make along story short, that has damaged her eyes. But it's been a few months and she's starting to learn her way around as a blind dog.

I've never really had a good dog before, and I'm constantly amazed at how much she loves me, and how hard she tries to figure out what I want her to do. As soon as she understands what a signal means, she not only uses it, but she does things to try to send messages back to me. I taught her to sit before I give her a treat, because she was jumping on me. Now, when she's hungry, she gets in front of me, makes sure she has my attention and sits, to ask for food. Damn smart dog.

I think your dog story is great. Learning how to communicate with your dog is like setting up a great friendship.

my female dog likes to hump legs.She has done this for over 7 years.Its funny everytime,she likes to hump my girlfriends leg the most.My girl is cool wit it,we dont let her hump for long but damn thats some funny sh!t

Female dogs do that. Hyenas, which are dominated by females, do that often. It's a dominating behavior. Your dog is the alpha female and your girlfriend is a beta or omega. At least in your dog's opinion.

Dogs are loyal companions, take good care of him ,you will not be sorry...ever!!

Here's a neat trick to try with your dog.

Offer up a high five. Mine offered right back without any training.

She's old as dirt now but will still high five me whenever I ask.

Anyway, we have two Shih Tzu's, one about 10 yo and the other 7 months. They get on their back legs and box, like fighters, to settle dominance. It can go on for quite awhile before the old one knocks the younger down and bites on her throat.

Tell me you wouldn't hug this....she's a keeper.
