Will Orphanages become popular again as single poor moms simply give up. It happened in the Great Depression.

Can't their family help them? If not, they could have orphanages that could accomodate the teen mothers too.

well welfare monies were not available back then . our nation is broke..foolish pregnacies only further impoverish single women..or divorced moms later on.. Cause a child is long term huge social and financial responsibilty for 20 years for the women, since childsupport is not adeaquate or reliable. there is no possible way to surgur coat the facts any more..race makes no differance.relying on others for this huge 20 year responsibility is so so risky ..

I remember a few years ago , Romanian women were leaving their babies in orphanges by the thousands due to financial hardship. A lot were adopted by westerners but a lot also died.
