02/05/2005 09:34 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I have trouble controlling the direction of my computer mouse arrow, on the screen. I´ve cleaned the mouse mat, ball under the mouse and defragged the computer, but it is no better. Does this mean I should buy a new mouse, or what? Thanks in advance for any advice. |
Anonymous Coward 12/08/2005 10:11 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Take off the cover where the ball is on the bottom and clean off the three rollers. You should be able to twist it off. The rollers are probably coated with crud. Scrape it off. next time you buy a mouse, buy optical. |

12/08/2005 10:11 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Thankyou AC. I could not get the cover off, but gently prodded and poked about with a blunt toothpick under the edge of the ball cover, the arrow seems more controllable since doing that. |
Anonymous Coward 12/08/2005 10:11 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | cover needs to be turned, usually counterclockwise. push down and turn. |

the real key is to get the hair and goop off the little cylindrical rollers on the sides. tweezers work best. |
