In a disease outbreak you (if you were the government) would send Red Cross, Disaster Relief, Doctors, Nurses and the like to HELP. Why would you send armed combat units door to door for sick people? Why else but to toss their homes and locate "subversives" and "revolutionaries” and their weapons. What happened to the giant drug war in the streets?

Re: BREAKING, Mexico., House to house searches for FLU bug!! OMG!
Even though this thing is weaker than the normal flu, they seem to be hyping it for some other reason, with the bio-hazard suits and everything...trying to make it look "very serious" so that when they announce the "magic cure" everyone will flock to get jabbed....trick is...the jab will be the jab of death...

beware!

The WHO is calling it deceptive and rapidly mutating, confirmed in Cdn labs. Our friend knows a very sick 11 y/o with flu symptoms (third day), we also "heard" a 50 y/o died of flu like symptoms (just hjeard). Rumors run hard and fast in this city. We'll see.

The WHO specifically said that they are afraid this virus will mix with other viruses. From what I've read that could be a big big problem. Perhaps all or most of us here already have it or have had it, and they are only looking for syntoms.

Just a thought, the health secretary mentioned that some of the probable case were asymptmatic,,, meaning that they had to have a nasal swab to be tested.

I cant imagine them doing 150,000 though...

Shit, my thoughts are exploding...

My concern (other than obvious NWO-ish concerns), if this virus is so easy to transmit. Isn't it dangerous to have a testing group visit EVERY house in a City.

Doesn't that just spell rapid infection?

They are trained to handle it?

I hope.

But yes touching infected people, or things in their house and then coming to another house, without a good scrubbing, would increase risk. All's it needs is the tiniest of water droplets.

Thanks for the heads-up. My partner is ready to phone a radio talk show to ask these great questions.

Other news: indicated that this virus measures on a contagion index of 1.6, while ordinary seasonal influenza measures less contagious at 1.2...

Okay, when you see them at your neighbors (if your homes are close together in Chiapas?), take pictures of the testers entering and exiting. Post that to Photobucket, etc. for us to see.

Please come back on after they leave, write a full description of everything that occurs from exactly what they say, forward. That way you have a written record of events you recall immediately after event. You will lose a lot of info as time passes.

Note what they are wearing on their hands, feet, body, face, etc. Note the way they test. If/How they search the home. How many people. Ages. Look for names on equipment (to research later). Have your roommate assist in this visual/verbal memory exercise. Note what the vehicles say on them. Anything out of the ordinary. How long they are in your home.

Good luck.

Well it certainly could be heavy but more than likely it will be a couple of cute shy nurses, asking questions. Where do you get your ideas of who is coming to my doorstep? The questions I have formulated thanks to comments here are: will I have to take Tamilflu if I dont want? Will they be trained to decontaminate themselves between houses?

These are legitimate concerns,,,

Your other comments on govt abusing power and turning even more authoritarian are always a concern, but you descredit everything by your fucking nonsense about Communist govts in Mexico or the US.

cheers.

Looking for drug gangs
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 550635

And some easy money?

"What does 206 million dollars look like"
...
"The raid resulted from an investigation that began in December, when authorities seized 19 tons of pseudoephedrine, a cold medicine that is a key ingredient in the production of methamphetamine, at a Mexican port on the Pacific Coast.

Mexican officials said the cash seized was mostly in U.S. $100 bills and weighed at least 4,500 pounds."

1) Mexico - You think that Mexico is a Constitutional Republic? If not that then what form of government is Mexico? Think as you will but here:
"Mexico was ruled by the Industrial Revolution Party from the 1920's until 2000. The PRI as it is called is a socialist left party. Until the 1970's the Mexican government had severe restriction on the practice of religion and other party's were not permitted to participate in National elections."

2) USA - It is very ignorant on your part to assume that the USA has not been converted into another Communist Nation. As I stated numerous times all you need to do is Google "The Ten Planks of the Communist Manifesto" and simply read them one by one. Compare what you read to what we can clearly see in the USA. You will see that after your search numerous sites have already pinpointed the comparison and this is handy for those that are more ignorant.

I assure you I am not happy about this realization and it is an eye opening thing. At any rate what happened to the bloody drug wars in the Mexican streets? They got sick and had to go home? Let us know.

My god. i can't believe you people.
There is no such inspection. No one is going house to house and no one is searching anyone.
Don't you owe it to yourself to find out if it is true before you talk about something that has not happened for 4 pages?
Look, op is part of the GLP game and he/she has every right to hype up this thing to make more ratings and more trafic for this forum. I am not saying they shouldn't do that. It is all part of the game but at the same time some of you (at least) must also play the other part of the game also. You know... the part when you wake up and realise you are being had.

Once again ... there is no house to house search and the threat is lowered.

Massachusetts just snuck in a law that allows them to go house to house.

"While Massachusetts residents were sleeping, our Legislature rushed through a bill- in response to the recent "Swine flu" outbreak. This bill has been on the shelf but (the) state government felt this was the perfect time to slip this bill through. What is the big deal about the bill- S18? It gives the Governor power to authorize the deployment and use of force to distribute supplies and materials. It gives local authorities the permission to enter private residences for investigation and to quarantine individuals.

There's a reason gun sales spiked, and a lot of people in this country were made to read 1984 and Fahrenheit 451 growing up.

We know the signs, even if we're still asleep. Everyone has been saying "psh, I don't see any signs yet". If they get a demand for an involuntary search, there will be violent revolution.

 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 671434

I don't think enough people read 1984 and F451. The fact we've come this far down the pike to authoritarianism with no serious challenge is a testament to our dumbed-down condition.

I'd personally feel alot better about my fellow Americans if I turned on the idiot box and witnessed Americans in the street taking back our country.

I sssure you I am telling the truth. I am not connected to GLP as you say. I have been looking for links to the story, but so far it isnt on-line. It was announced this morning at a press conference. It seems this isnt a national story, or even much of a state story because, for some reason, we are being singled out for this treatment...

Like I said before I think it is because we are a popular tourist destination for both Europeans and Mexicans. The last holidays many 10s of thousands came here. The oincidences of the disaese here must have been extrmely high.

If you find this hard to believe, search another thread on my town a couple of months ago. Our Mayor had cut off the water to the entire city for a week. There were people who didnt believe me, just l;ike you. Buit I convinced every single one.

Go ahead search for it. Or you could just as easily STFU...

The ball is clearly in YOUR court.

Worse case scenario is if people have symptoms and they identify the virus they'll take them to hospital and pump them up with Tamiflu -- the health authorities were given special powers just recently. But considering I dont believe they have the ability to fully identify the virus subtype, they may just identify Influenza A and do it anyway...

Re: BREAKING, Mexico., House to house searches for FLU bug!! OMG!
I wrote this yesterday...

Up till a couple of days ago we were reassured profusely that our state has no cases of the virus in question...

Last week our schools were closed till May 5, along with the entire nation, and sensible warnings were issued of avoiding large gatherings, to wash hands and practice basic hygiene -- all as a precaution mind you -- but thank goodness nothing compared to the situation in Mexico City, and what those poor souls were going through.

We felt safe but worried as we watched from a distance as the virus' rate of infection and morbidity first intensified, then suddenly dropped. We understood the stats were changing inconsistantly because of better tests clarifying initial misdiagnoses, and thus we were reassured that authorities had a clearer picture of what was really happening -- and so we felt relieved that it wasnt as bad as first thought,,,

You should be beginning to get a sense of the rollar coaster type emotional and psychological ride the nation as a whole -- both inside and outside Mexico City -- has been through...

Or at least the first minor hill or two. lol

However, now everything is more serious. I'll explain: Before this week... the central govt was preoccupied by Mexico City and environs, but unbeknown to us they waited for the states and regions to report the local impact of the epidemic. So as the week passed, states began to suppsedly feed the number crunchers in the capital. Then a couple of days ago we heard another more serious situation for our state...

It was left to our governor and his cabinet to inform us. Again trying to reassure us he said we had zero confirmed cases, however we had 63 "suspicious" cases. He added that this was nothing to worry about however he decided to extend the suspension of classes from May 5th to May 11th, and that all state cultural, sport and non essential govt functions would be cancelled -- all tentative (either way) and all depending on how things developed...

This was quite a shock, since up till that time the federal govt was informing us the epidemic was diminishing, or at least spreading outward (mostly northward and westward) around the world, weakening as it diffused away from us -- or that's the image we were being given by the information we received.

But suddenly we were being informed of an intensification of efforts to combat its spread locally. Military/medical road checks were set up around the state; panic buying began tosurface; rumors spread; spontaneous (and unofficial) roadblocks are in our barrio intending to impede traffic, and limit the number of people moving around (I am now bicycling); and now today confirmation that people we know, know one 11 y/o who is deathly sick (third day), and one 50 y/o who has died, both from influenza like symptoms. So this is getting close, and this is contradicting what we are being told. Also, to give you a feeling the dread, Our neighbor is wearing black, which usually culturally only happens when someone very close dies, but now seems to be some women's way of reflecting a community mood, a warning.

Luckily, I suppose, we have been practicing precaution for over a week. We are confining our children to the house, with no play time with friends, and only venturing out -- either myself or my wife -- to stock up on food, not touching anything and washing our hands and face frequently. And each day we have been sunbathing for 20 minutes in the garden. Supplementing our healthy diet with vit c.

With all this home time we have, and with a threat all around us, I have been frantically researching the internet for more information. While it is interesting reading on subjects about bio-terrorism, the Baxter and Smithfield stories, the rate of spread beyond Mexico, and the international reaction and opinion,,, I have to say that, as of today, I am focusing on self preservation: the actual prognosis of the virus (yet to be fully known, except it may attack healthy immune systems and strangely, what I have been hearing, is that woman are almost doubly affected over men); of future mutation, and/or recombining with other viruses (for future consideration); of viral resistance and the risks of self medication (a common practice in Mexico); and what other things, medicinal or homeopathic, I can do now to combate a novel virus where our collective and individual immunity is, apparently, nonexistent,..

So that is my personal situation -- paranoia, lies, political intrigue, vigilantism, isolation, suspicion, and exteme concern that we arent doing enough, or that I am doing the wrong things, or that it all may be too late. I have to admit that this "slow Sunday" has overwhelmed me with a cascade of unexpected surprises, making for more over-riding and immediate concerns,,,
