They drove the apollo capsule around the van allen belts or just the edge or just a layer of plastic was enough protection or the belts no longer existed, whatever the case may be, nasa sent a rocket with a dog into the belts in 1968 to verify what would happen in the belts. Whatever you want to think about the US going to the moon, the dog came back like some of the Russian crispy critters that went into high orbit and were fried into charcoal. They only give you a lead apron because there is a LEGAL limit for how much x-rays you can be exposed to and your dentist doesn't know your history outside the office. One or two x-rays a year by themselves won't hurt you. Plus the radiation from the belts is different. It is primarily charged particle radiation which is easier to block. and the temperatures quoted are the min and max of the SURFACE of the Moon. Not only does it take time to reach both of those (and they weren't there during the times of min or max) the cameras never came into contact with the surface. |

The top half of the LM lifted off from the Moon and rendezvous'd with the command module and was then discarded. The command module was pushed back to Earth by the Service module. why has no one ever done it again. even tho technology is 50!! years further. is this was real back then then everything they used would be so easy to make in todays world and with so many rich people and countries it would have been done again.
