anyone here like trance?
for those who appreciate this particular genre of music, consider the following quotes:

"By far the best form of music that exists. A recent study showed that if a population is divided into musical preference, those who claim a strong allegiance to trance have the highest average IQ. Trance is the music of the genius-generation."

"The most sublime, divine, advanced music genre known to man, representing a quantum leap in artistic creativity analogous to the development of the frontal lobe in the human brain. Having an IQ below 130 renders one incapable of appreciating, let alone enjoying trance. Being a connoisseur of trance bespeaks of extremely high intelligence and impeccable level of personal sophistication. On the other hand, those who despise trance can uniformly be characterized as primitive troglodytes, closer to ape than man."

not to get my ego puffed up or anything, believing i'm some "genius" merely because i thoroughly enjoy trance, but nonetheless, these quotes make sense.

i would go further in my contemplations and conclude that because trance promotes intelligence, the "powers that be" do not want people to adopt an appreciation for it. they desire to dumb-down the population via the distribution of unsubstantial music, where careless thrashing of the drums and guitars, "rapping" foolishly and incoherently, are prevalent.

I'm down with trance. Your last little "statement" derailed your point for me though.

"they desire to dumb-down the population via the distribution of unsubstantial music, where careless thrashing of the drums and guitars, "rapping" foolishly and incoherently, are prevalent."

It seems you're generalizing the music as a whole of which that is being played on the radio. You couldn't be further from the truth. If you would like, I can prove it to you.

i understand it may seem i'm implying this, but i can assure you i'm not.

personally, i enjoy rock music. for example, one of my favorite rock artists is the band "chevelle". many of their songs are just simply brilliant.

so one can no doubt obtain thorough intellectual satisfaction from such a genre as rock, but it is my humble opinion that for those who want to take it to the next level - trance/electronic is the route to go.

cool. interesting, OP. i don't know if it's the best music or for genius's or anything, but i'd have to say that, yeah, its pretty nice for good vibes and high frequencies.
check out this trance/ambient/cosmic electronic group, Rainbow Serpent.
they are really amazing.
like 100% amazing.
hard to find their stuff but check out the albums Future Gate, Silver Blue, Pulse, The 8th Nerve, and Cosmovision, if you can!

god-forsaken,

i'd say the first video you posted is more on the "psychedelic trance" genre; but trance nonetheless. i myself also like this particular variant of trance as well on occasion.

but personally i enjoy the following types of trance music:

beautiful track (and picture as well).

i as well love "melodic trance". it is my favorite variant of this genre. many of such songs are very celestial and angelic in nature.

again, that would be "psychedelic trance". there is no "real" form of trance, but rather various kinds which cater to everyone's preferences.

Um you post about trance being high IQ ? But what you don't realize is that mainstream trance isn't trance .. it's pop/dance music. Real trance is stuff like GOA, Psygone, and underground trance. The mainstream trance is album upon album upon album of nothing but piles of ... SHIT...

i don't know what i've done to receive such harsh words in this thread.

i get accused of being lower in intelligence by individuals who are prone to quarreling, arguing and foul language. are such characteristics indicative of high IQ? no, they don't seem to be.

if you or anyone else is smarter than i am does not matter to me. i will not lose sleep. but to be defamed and attacked in such open and flagrant hypocrisy just boggles my mind.

but we are getting way off subject. i was not expecting this to turn into an "you're dumb and i'm smart", egotistical discussion.

Hell ya, Trance is mainly the only music genre I listen to. Anjunabeats has to be my favorite.

I have thought this alot myself. Im pretty sure that the reason trance is not able to go main stream is for the exact reason you purposed there. I was thinking about starting an all trance and progressive radio station where I live. I doubt the powers to be locally would let me.

anjunabeats is great.

i have volumes 4-6 and they're fantastic.

also just recently downloaded "best of anjunabeats melodic trance 04" from itunes, and am pleased with the purchase.

my favorite anjunabeats song at the moment would have to be the following:

Re: anyone here like trance?
Not sure about the high IQ part, I don't think it respresents anything much except being able to solve certain types of problems. Some of the wisest people I know skipped school for the most part and have no formal qualifications..

Anyway, I digress. I do believe that trance and the general spiritual aspects of peaceful, loving human beings coming together and partying in a field is something beautiful. It has provided me with some of the most grounding experiences of my life.

Oh yea, and I'd have to say the Infected Mushroom are probably my favourite (psy) trance act
