The coverup is so big and in so many areas, you could never hide anything this huge so they hid it right out in the open.

One example, the head manager of air traffic control in the airport tower where a tape was recording conversation between the airliners and air traffic controllers, pulled it from the recording machine and proceeded to tear it into pieces which he deposited into various trash cans around the facility. Then told everyone present if they know whats good for them to just forget about it.
