UK is NOT a DEMOCRACY it has ( why do I keep thinking demonocracy?) It is an OLIGARCHY.And as I said it is full of crooks. In a democracy everyone votes on everything.In the ancient city state which started democracy (Athens perhaps) all the citizens had to vote on everything.This of course excluded women ,slaves and children.The slaves had to chase those who had to vote with ropes with red dye on them to make people vote.I am fairly sure after awhile it could become tedious.We could do this now by computer or phone in but I expect it would be fiddled.We actually have an oligarchy in which we vote in groups of people to vote things for us.This is what the tread is complaining about.That the people we voted in stop listening to what the people want.We are under the illusion it is a democracy but infact it isn't. We are in reality disenfranchised.It is a cheat.It is ok when the government is fairly reasonable but unfortunately we left that a long time ago.I feel we would be better if we weren't continually told it is something it isn't.Then perhaps we would change it.Acknowledging something is the first step to recovery is it not?

Blair just continued where Maggie/John Major left off, Compounded to this is the fact one of the first things the Blair administration did when they came into power is to give the british banking system back to the elite bankers.

Like i said, this country was sold out decades ago, all this shit happening today is for is to weaken the UK enough economically to force a merger with the EU.

We wont get a proper referendum because this has all been planned since the late 80's Early 90's

Why on earth would we want to come to Australia???.... Its full of Austrailians!!

People vote tactically and strategically in the UK in the local elections. However, it does give some indicators of what will happen in the general election. The EU results will also be interesting because the UKIP concentrated on standing in these elections because they know that is where the real power and influence is on the future of 27 nations.

News is that UKIP did well and I am sure that they attract more MP's to join them now to stand in the general election.

Let's get some facts clear:-

Thatcher was the first leader of any Western country in the 20th century who actually REDUCED the size of the state and reduced the proportion of income spent by that state. That is why the establishment hate her to hell! That was a good thing!

Thatcher also repeated time and time again that you couldn't build success on debt .... the present credit crunch amply demonstrates how right she was.

Thatcher also took on the trade unions, who were becoming disproportionaly powerful, with strikes at the drop of the hat. People forget the 70's and the wildcat strikes that were happening daily at the behest of pretty corrupt and power crazed union officials. I know my Dad was sick and tired of union officials calling strikes all the time that benefited unions but did nothing for the workers, except lose them pay. She gave control back to members and not surprisingly they did not want to go on strike every 5 minutes, I know my Dad was one of them and was happy to be given a vote.

Breaking the miners and shutting the mines was a politically motivated decision though and the latter part of it was a huge mistake, probably her biggest. Thinking that natural gas would be around for a long time, she altered energy policy and we are seeing the repurcussions of that now. She should have tried to achieve more balance, but I think the animosity towards the miners unions outweighed her political judgement.

There was, however, an unfinished task - bringing uncontrolled management back under the control of real shareholders. This was the challenge that Labour should have taken up - but failed to - much to their shame and discredit since Blair became so busy sidling up to corrupt CEO's and their crony directors.

The big deficit is that executive management run companies for their own benefit and often to the detriment of shareholders. The big problem is that the shareholders, who are essentially pension funds and unit trusts invest monies for their own benefit (and behave like the managers of the companies) and to the detriment of those who provide the funds - ie. US!!!

So, you get this cosy relationship of fund managers and CEO's and crony boards basically shafting all of us.

Labour should have given back control to those who money is being stolen by this cosy cabal. They didn't and for that alone they deserve to end up on the scrap heap of history.

Never mind their role in creating the police fascist state they leave behind - but that's another story.

Bye bye failures .........

I did not vote conservative in these elections.

However, I can confirm that the the UK have only prospered under a conservative government. Thatcher turned this country around and the woman's touch is required again.

When your choices are nothing close to what as a people is desired ....how can you call that a democracy?

The communists held elections in China,Russia back in the 70's and gave people a "choice" to vote for....did you call that a democracy too?

The reason that she closed the mines is because they were not financially economical and the tax payer was carrying the cost. Also mining by people is not healthy for the people to do. Plus the miners were holding the country to ransom and when you add it all together with the ecology factors they had to go for their own good health and the health of the country.

You can never have enough doctors, nurses and dentists.

If the medical situation is so good in this country why is there a half a mile long que everytime an NHS dentist opens, and crazy hospital waiting lists.

No doubt maggie did some good although i disagree slightly on the union issue, shit even blair did some good, the point is they did a lot of bad.

The Labour Party was undermined by the destruction of the unions and then infiltrated by groomed right wingers. Now they are self destructing the party before handing the baton over to Cameron. It is time for the rank and file union members to bring a halt to this charade and insist on grass roots candidates at the next election, dismissing every Oxford and Cambridge educated champagne socialist into the bargain. Then complete the nationalisation of the banking infrastructure and slam the door on Brussels.

Thatcher was also heavy on the EU and the media.



Major was just too nice to be a prime minister and Cameron likes Obama too much. None of the three major parties have come out against the existing immigration policy and voters must be made aware of this in the general election. The Lib Dems also support multi-culturalism and this isn't surprising because many of them came from the old labour party.

So far only UKIP are the ones that have a leader like Thatcher who will stand up and say NO!
