is it weird that i don't like my picture taken? even at parties or family get togethers?

I prefer to not have my picture taken either, so you're not alone.

I second that. It's mostly because I look horrible in all photos taken, but I think it runs deeper than that. I just don't like it. People seem to think you are nuts if you try to refuse a photo. It is my right to refuse in a private place, if you are in public you are fair game.

If I'm forced into a group photo, I duck behind someone and block myself from the camera. Works every time.

But there is a full 3d picture of your house on Google maps and you didn't even get to give your permission.

I don't like having mine taken either, there's something not right about it. Hard to explain.

I do not like being photographed either. Why does everyone have to have cheesy grins in pics too, they never look their best.

I know several people who don't like to be in photos, nothing's wrong with that.

The popularity of Facebook and MySpace, along with digital cameras, make photos being taken at get-togethers a given. I'm sure it's really annoying for anyone who doesn't like their pic taken. Personally, I love being in and taking pics!

I refuse to get mine taken unless I take. If those professional or photographer of gathering persons try to comb someone's hair they don't comb right.

I don't like the group photos since looks to overly associating with someone. If they get indited for crime and I don't know them well I don't want to be seen as buddy buddy.

I pull out the Asian style fan at public. I am trying to eat something all the time and I don't need awkward muncher pics.

cameras do steal your soul, just look at all these folks in movies who spend their lives before cameras, they become lost.

I hate having my pic taken too. Really, really shallow reason, though, but it's just how I feel. I used to be really handsome then I lost my hair. Now I think I look ugly, or at least not too good. True or not, I don;t know. But I don't want to look at myself this way and I don't want any record of it either!

OP I know what you mean. I really don't like my picture taken either. I don't photograph well at all...many people will look at a group photo and ask where I am even though I was standing right next to them, that is how poorly I photograph.

I still try to avoid photos but have relented on a few as a good friend told me that my children will want to see photographs of me at different functions when they are much older. As my parents are now dead, I can tell you I treasure every photo there is of them.

So bottom line, if you have kids "grin and bear it" have photos taken with them at various functions so that they will have them later in life.

I agree...I noticed that every time a picture is taken of me at a particular time in my life, it's like that phase of my life is ending..Its weird can't articulate it.

I've always avoided being photographed. My Aunt is the same way.

I hate having my picture taken. Might have something to do with all those childhood pictures with my eyes shut. Or maybe all those black-and-white pix with me glowing like a ghost...I'm a redhead with really pale skin.

I dont care to have my picture taken either. Reason being, I dont photograph well. I say I get 1-2 decent pictures of myself every couple of years.

I don't like it, actually looking at a picture of me ruins my fantasy of what I look like.

it doesnt steal your soul but it does steal your energy, everything is energy, someone goes flash and suddenly an image of you is stored....

also if you have a more complex energy field if your an old soul the little human cameras we have dont manage to reflect back your essence very well therefore you probably wont look so great, also if your uncomfortable when its taken it will show and you will look shitty...........

Maybe you don`t recognise yourself in pics, truly not knowing who it is you are. That`s my excuse.
