If there's an honest audit, the people will be mad as hell at what they find - loose, loose. The only path is to use all their influence avoid an audit and that will make everybody mad as hell. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 699639 ![]() 06/11/2009 06:43 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | CNBC - Fed Would Be Shut Down If It Were Audited The Federal Reserve's balance sheet is so out of whack that the central bank would be shut down if subjected to a conventional audit, Jim Grant, editor of Grant's Interest Rate Observer, told CNBC. With $45 billion in capital and $2.1 trillion in assets, the central bank would not withstand the scrutiny normally afforded other institutions, Grant said in a live interview. "If the Fed examiners were set upon the Fed's own documents—unlabeled documents—to pass judgment on the Fed's capacity to survive the difficulties it faces in credit, it would shut this institution down," he said. "The Fed is undercapitalized in a way that Citicorp is undercapitalized." Grant said he would support legislation currently making its way through Congress calling for an audit of the Fed. "Obama administration is proposing that the Federal Reserve serve as an all-seeing regulator to detect activities that could pose risks to the entire financial system." By Jim Kuhnhenn May 29, 2009 So his position is clear on the Federal Reserve, he's keeping things just the way they are and telling us to our face that the plunge protection will continue serve their own interests . Anonymous Coward User ID: 527834 ![]() 06/11/2009 09:46 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Everyone's playing for time. The Fed knows time is on their side, especially if they wait for, or can conjure up other crisis'. These people have been playing this game for 100 years, and in fact much more. The call for an audit will wane, as Amerika gradually dissolves into (a new form of) feudalism. When nearly 70% of the country's wealth is in the hands of 1% of the population, TPTB haven't got far to go! It's all wishful thinking, but I hope Dr. Ron Paul carries on being a thorn in their flesh. |

In other words, he is the only one who is not bought and paid for, and therefore has an ability to actually represent the people. As for the rest of them, they certainly don't represent you. They represent who they are bought and paid for by. |
