They happened either Mon or Tue at about 2:30 AM, and the thunder was loudest noise I've ever heard in my life. It was pretty terrifying. We never get them that bad upstate, and didn't have any this week. I remember sleeping out in a tent under a wood balcony during one as a kid. It was awesome. They only scare me if the sky turns green, the birds stop chirping and the wind stops. When that happens, head to the basement with a jug of water and wait for the tornado sirens. |

My ex in NYC mentioned it a coupla days ago - he said it was the most intense storm he'd ever seen/heard for NYC. I did ask him if the cat was bothered, but he said na. Cool kitty that one. |

The storms though lately have been super intense. This morning I was startled out of bed by these loud thunder claps happening in fairly rapid succession. Not the usual long pauses and randomness you normally get. There was a heavy fog on too and you could just barely see the lightening forking through the clouds. Very sinister. I kept thinking of the movie "Mist"--there's something in the fog, run.... ahhhhhh!! |

Maybe you should go to to Magnolia's and get yourself a cupcake, cupcake. "I don't know which was scarier...the speech...or the Congress cheering it. He evoked Lincoln.
