My exact thoughts, CB. The clone thing may be the only thing she has left in her bag of tricks. The government is removing believers and replacing them with clones. That's why her following is so small. I bet Max would buy that.

Why would I want to get out of Florida? I'm making very good money, the house and three acres of land I have in SW Florida is mortgage free (paid cash for it), I have less than 1/2 year to pay on my truck, and I enjoy being able to watch an Atlas V or Delta IV launch every so often (I work less than 20 minutes from the Cape).

Life is good.

We own a home in Tampa...okay, we own 1/3 of it. If I could find a job doing Network Systems Administration so I could use my degree, I'd be making better money and could get that place paid off so it becomes an asset instead of a liability. But, for now, I'm just glad to have a job...even if it does pay $15,000/yr less than where I would like to be. I actually start a new job on Jul 2 doing IT support for a medical group. The job actually pays $110 a month less than my current job, but, because it's only 5 miles from home (40 miles closer than my current job), my monthly fuel costs will go down about $200. I also won't have to take my daughter to before school care saving us $30 a month. We're refinancing the house here and that will save us another $70 a month. Wish I could re-fi the place in Tampa since it has a 5.75% interest rate but Wells Fargo won't do it unless we can put 20% down since we don't actually live in the house.

Won't be at this time next year - that is "good" or "Life" ...

It's your choice of course - as it is with 80 percent of the world's population that lives within a few hundred miles of an ocean coast.

As of 2004, **I** lived less than 20 miles from ocean coast in New Jersey, and worked in Manhattan (I'm a 9-11 survivor - remember?).

I left the East Coast partly TO GET AWAY FROM THE COAST. If for no other reason than I felt in my gut that it was not a good place to be. I had an opportunity to go live in Seattle where my parents and sister were at the time (my parents are both deceased as of 2008). I CHOSE CHICAGO - NORTHERN ILLINOIS instead, where we have no family and I knew NO ONE, due to concerns about again being too close to the ocean, and too close to Mount Ranier. (We have since made lots of friends, and even have an "adopted" grandfather for our girls). We are quite comfortable here now, and I don't have the "uneasy" feeling that haunted me almost continuously when I lived out East.

Of course Clif lives near Seattle - but then he's a "boat guy" - I'm not. (Though I grew up around boats - so I'm no stranger to them. My father was a HUGE Great Lakes Salmon fisherman with his own 26 foot cabin cruiser).

But hey - we all have our destiny. It's OK to accept the danger and enjoy life on the coast - just don't be in DENIAL about it, or laugh at those who AREN'T.
