So what is the excuse going to be when millions of Americans witness the August 21st Solar Eclipse and Nancy's PX is nowhere to be seen?

Yes, I can definitely see that as a possibility. I'm getting a new 500mm focal length Schmidt-Cassegrain lens today for my SLR which will ride piggyback on the LX200 during the eclipse. That should put Regulus right at the edge of the field of view if I'm centered on the sun, according to SkySafari Pro. It will actually fit a bit better if I'm alt-az aligned than equatorially aligned (likely to be the case to provide additional stability in case of wind). I'll be sure to make sure it's in the field of view at totality, moving the telescope slightly if necessary.
