Quoting: Anonymous Coward 702680Yeah, they're a really fucking overrated, terrible band as well. The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want He makes me down to lie Through pastures green He leadeth me the silent waters by. With bright knives He releaseth my soul. He maketh me to hang on hooks in high places. He converteth me to lamb cutlets, For lo, He hath great power, and great hunger. When cometh the day we lowly ones, Through quiet reflection, and great dedication Master the art of karate, Lo, we shall rise up, And then we'll make the bugger's eyes water. |

A Cynical Mind (OP) User ID: 669509 United States 06/14/2009 05:33 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Oh, and I almost forgot about KID ROCK. It still baffles the mind as to how a common thug from inner city Detroit is now a fucking rock/country star. He did a song with INSANE CLOWN POSSE for fuck's sake! I'd also like to submit Werewolves of Sweet Home Alabama (aka "All Summer Long") as the one of the most overrated songs of all time. Anonymous Coward User ID: 702466 Canada 06/14/2009 05:40 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I'd agree about Nirvana. I was in my early 20s when 'grunge' exploded onto the world. I thought there was nothing new or original about them at all there were tons of sh*tty bands around then that cranked up the distortion on their pedals to hide their utter lack of guitar-playing ability and had the same sort of gutteral (or whining) vocals in lieu of any singing ability. They had one fairly catchy song that grabbed the zeitgeist at the time (Smells like Teen Spirit) that was tolerable, the rest was utter crap. That cover of the Bowie song was horrible but it certainly revealed what a gawd-awful singer Cobain was - over-emoted, pronounced certain words strangely, cracked his voice too much etc. That, and their lyrics are atrocious. Having said that, I'd have to include Pearl Jam. Again, one tolerable song - Jeremy - and the rest were crap (though at least unlike Cobain the guy could sing). |

"Generation X" turned out some of the worst music I've ever heard, and "Generation Y" isn't doing much better. Well if you're gonna write off all music made after 1980 then there's no talking to you anyway. Don't you have a cloud to yell at or something? |
