Plasma is just salty water yes. 70% of your body is just salty water. However, you can not live without erythrocytes. Erythrocytes contain hemoglobin which binds oxygen. This oxygen is then transported all over your body so you can live. If you change out someones blood with seawater, that person dies. The effectively suffocate, while still breathing. |
