Some person will post a subject called "Holy shit! Now there's a prediction!" on 27-06-09 around 3-4pm. In it, he will point to a CL link where someone supposedly makes a prediction of a pop icon's untimely death. Fools will see the time stamp and date and believe this is a genuine post. What they will not realize is that you can go back and edit any of your posts, change the title and subject line, but still have the date and time stamp remain.

Michael Jackson Death Threats

26-year-old Canadian Adrian Poffley has been given a year's probation and conditional discharge after admitting to making death threats to Michael Jackson via e-mail.

"Jackson will not make it to his car...This is a promise. By the way, bulletproof vests are weakest under the arm," ran one of Poffley's e-mails, sent on 16th August to the Santa Monica courthouse where Jackson was facing child molestation charges...

After Jackson had left the courthouse safely another e-mail from Poffley came through with the words "The cop in the green suit and blue shirt was in the way. Maybe next time."

The court in Kitchener, Ontario heard that the defendant had been neglecting to take medication prescibed for depression and anxiety for a week previous to watching the TV coverage of the case in August. Poffey's attorney, Sean Safa, says that Poffey is back on the medication and accepts that Jackson is entitled to a presumption of innocence as much as anybody else.

Poffey is now out on a mutually-agreed conditional discharge and a year's probation. As long as he sticks to the terms of his probation, which includes not using e-mail facilites, he will face no criminal record.
