Anonymous Coward 12/08/2005 10:11 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Iīve had a lot of mattresses in my life. The worst one was one I paid $100.00 for. It was so cheap and crappy I woke up sore each day. Now I have a cadillac type mattress. It was about the most expensive one in the mattress store. Donīt buy any mattress without lying on it first. Donīt take anyones word that the mattress is good and comfortable. Those mattress stores encourage you to lie on the mattresses that are displayed there. Donīt be shy, try them all. After you have tried them you will have an idea of what you would really like to have and then you will know what it will cost and if you are willing to try and cough up that much. Good luck ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ |

Daniel 12/08/2005 10:11 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Sew up a couple of old sheets on all sides - leave about a foot or so NOT sewn. Fill it with straw - it helps to break up the stalks and fluff first - to your desired softness. Your all set for the price of a bale of straw - and a little sewing. Sweet dreams - of ALLm the money you saved. Daniel |

Anonymous Coward 12/08/2005 10:11 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I have an air mattress I loved till one side sprung a link two days ago and it is flat as a pancake. Now I have to trouble shoot or call the manufacturer. But I did love it for maybe five years. Itīs called a Select Comfort and I might buy one again. I hope it is still under warranty. |

REAL Dave nli 12/08/2005 10:11 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Damnit DANIEL! You stole my thunder, man! :-) seriously, though...if youīre that cheap, why not just get a piece of plywood and some thick medical foam(used) from a dumpster. Throw a sheet over it and wallah! That, or just buy an air mattress and a sleeping bag. dave |

Anonymous Coward 12/08/2005 10:11 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | YOW!! I just went to epinions to see what people are saying about that Select Comfort mattress that just sprung a leak for me after about three years and a lot of people are saying the pump goes out after a few years or it starts leaking so I donīt know that I would recommend it. Kind of expensive too. |
Lester 12/08/2005 10:11 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I have read about Memory Foam being tremendous stuff. A 2" thick Memory Foad pad costs about $100 for a queen size bed. You can get a piece of extra firm foam and put Memory Foam on top of it and have a great bed. Put the foam inside a bed sack which is a double sided zippered mattress cover, put the memory foam over it and you are in business. A Full size, called a double, would likely cost you well under $150, a Queen about $200. In most large cities there are industrial firms that will cut foam to your specifications. One of these places would likely have your best deal. Try ebay or walmart for the memory foam and bedsack. Futons are very nice too, but the foam setup will weigh under 10 lbs and could be rolled up and moved or stored more easily. |
