Question for gardeners re zucchini

I've got this beautiful zucchini plant growing and exploding with flowers but I noticed some are falling off and no veggie is growing.

Do I need more than one for the pollination factor?

It's not my favorite veggie but my mom gave me one to grow for her, and she has one too and the same thing is happening.

the plants might be too young yet

try swapping the flowers from ur mum's pant and yours


or you can assist by brushing the
(stipils?), those thangy thangs in the middle of the flower, one flower to another with a little brush, like a water colour brush

I have one too and the same thing happened, I thought it was my squirel friends.....

Apparently there are supposed to be three plants in a grouping when you plant them... if that helps????

the plant will produce male flowers first. The female flowers (have a ball at the bottom of the flower) will come soon. Then you will get some zucs. Only the female flowers produce.

Ya need to diddle the flowers

The day the flowers open, grab a Q-Tip and use it to move pollen from one flower to the next. The same can be done with just about every plant.

Hmmm..I'm in NE Ohio, where are you? Probably close by I think.

When I started gardening as a young person, everything grew great and too much. Now 20 years later, it's hit and miss, despite my best efforts.

Because I've moved so much (but still in the same area), I blame it on soil conditions, or lack of sunlight, but I have to wonder if it isn't the damn GM plants we buy at the garden center that are already fucked up.

I don't know, just throwing this out there.

But AC you started yours from seeds.

Maybe the sun is in the wrong place.

Zucchinis broke my heart this year! I can grow lots of things but this foolproof veggie defeated me. I think I overwatered. My three plants turned yellow and died. I sprayed them with a neem oil solution that should have prevented most diseases and pests, but they still slowly turned yellow and keeled anyway. I did get a couple of zuks off each plant first...what do ya'll gardeners think?

I have little knowledge in gardening and my intentions are for the earth to teach me! I am on my third year and notice each year I improve some. I hand till and use no fertilizers. I havent noticed honey bees until today. I also have two snakes that think they are my buddy. I am not very comfortable with the snakes!
