How do humans make crop circles??

Easy. First, they get a couple of wooden planks, a ball of string, and then sit on the planks drinking a couple of pints while they wait for the DNA-modifying differential plant growth machine to arrive, which they carry into the site, using the string as a carry-net. They then direct the electromagnetic emanations from the machine to cause explosive differential growth on one side of the plant stalks, making them bend over flat. Finally, they use the string to fly a cloud-seeding kite to instigate intense but localized thunderstorms that whip the plants into highly-interleaved woven patterns on the ground.

Child's play, really.
