Teenager Arrested as Terrorist for Writing a Story About Zombies!

Strange that grandparents would ready the journal of an 18 year old man. Stranger still that they called the police on him knowing what would happen. I have to wonder if they know this young man has a history of mental problems.

Not that strange. I´m in my 40´s and my mom is still so nosey that she´ll sneak thru all my stuff even when I´m just visiting!

Growing up with her taught me how to be VERY sneaky.

Thought crime, wrongthink... and his own family turned him in. That´s just f$%&$%# precious. I don´t even believe this kind of s%#$# anymore.

What is sad it that it could happen in any state. I seem to remember of a child who got in trouble for drawing a war scene with soldiers fighting. I don´t have a link it was last year. I think and the kid got in trouble from his teacher then his principle then Social services too. The saddest part was the kid was drawing about his older brother whao was serving in Iraq at the time. I guess the thought police are here... hey did I just post that??? or think it???

I think the most important thing in this situation is that it was over a written piece of work. When an author writes something they know exactly what everything means and interpretation is all up to the reader. It is sad that you cant freely express yourself without worrying of family or friends taking it the wrong way....

This was in Kentucky, although I didn´t know about it before reading it here. I don´t often watch the local news. This is completely insane. One good thing about the guy being 18 is that he should be protected under all Constitutional rights, unlike children. I hope some great lawyers hear of this and take the case.

What is sad, is that the grand parents should have talked to that boy BEFORE going to the police!

I just want to add something that makes his statement that he was working on a fiction story VERY PLAUSIBLE. The zombie movie Dawn of the Dead was set in Louisville, Kentucky. And a film producer in Lexington, Kentucky, has been making awful zombie movies for the last couple of years. My older sister, who lives in Lexington, played a small part in one that is in the editing stage.

Dawn of the Dead 1978 took place in western Pennsyvania. Although it somehwhat ambiguos in the movie. They do mention their travelling West and "passed Harrisburg a few hours ago" Most of the tv broadcasts originate out of Pittsburgh. It was also filmed just outside of Pittsburgh in Monroeville. The mall is still there btw. Dawn Dead ´04 was filmed in Canada and was supopse to take place in Wisconsin according to the script.

You are thinking of Return of the Living Dead which was suppose to take place in Louisville Kentucky. A very interesting city when I visited it. Very friendly place too.

In regards to this story this is some very scary shit. But we Americans can only blame ourselves, this has been coming for a long time now. Back in the 80´s it was ok to ammend the constitution to throw black kids in adult jails for their crimes.
