We have a predator that came from the depths of the cosmos and took over the rule of our lives
Don Juan, the Mexican Yaqui Indian shaman, tells Carlos Castaneda the following:

"We have a predator that came from the depths of the cosmos and took over the
rule of our lives. Human beings are its prisoners. The predator is our lord and
master. It has rendered us docile, helpless. If we want to protest, it suppresses our
protest. If we want to act independently, it demands that we don't do so... I have
been beating around the bush all this time, insinuating to you that something is
holding us prisoner. Indeed we are held prisoner!
"This was an energetic fact for the sorcerers of ancient Mexico ... They took us
over because we are food for them, and they squeeze us mercilessly because we are
their sustenance. Just as we rear chickens in chicken coops, the predators rear us in
human coops, humaneros. Therefore, their food is always available to them."
"No, no, no, no," [Carlos replies] "This is absurd don Juan. What you're saying is
something monstrous. It simply can't be true, for sorcerers or for average men, or
for anyone."
"Why not?" don Juan asked calmly. "Why not? Because it infuriates you? ... You
haven't heard all the claims yet. I want to appeal to your analytical mind. Think for
a moment, and tell me how you would explain the contradictions between the
intelligence of man the engineer and the stupidity of his systems of beliefs, or the
stupidity of his contradictory behaviour. Sorcerers believe that the predators have
given us our systems of belief, our ideas of good and evil, our social mores. They
are the ones who set up our hopes and expectations and dreams of success or
failure. They have given us covetousness, greed, and cowardice. It is the predators
who make us complacent, routinary, and egomaniacal."
'"But how can they do this, don Juan?' [Carlos] asked, somehow angered further
by what [don Juan] was saying. "Do they whisper all that in our ears while we are
asleep?"
"'No, they don't do it that way. That's idiotic!" don Juan said, smiling. "They are
infinitely more efficient and organized than that. In order to keep us obedient and
meek and weak, the predators engaged themselves in a stupendous manoeuvre -
XX Children of the Matrix
stupendous, of course, from the point of view of a fighting strategist. A horrendous
manoeuvre from the point of view of those who suffer it. They gave us their mind!
Do you hear me? The predators give us their mind, which becomes our mind. The
predators' mind is baroque, contradictory, morose, filled with the fear of being
discovered any minute now."
"I know that even though you have never suffered hunger... you have food
anxiety, which is none other than the anxiety of the predator who fears that any
moment now its manoeuvre is going to be uncovered and food is going to be
denied. Through the mind, which, after all, is their mind, the predators inject into
the lives of human beings whatever is convenient for them. And they ensure, in this
manner, a degree of security to act as a buffer against their fear."
"The sorcerers of ancient Mexico were quite ill at ease with the idea of when [the
predator] made its appearance on Earth. They reasoned that man must have been a
complete being at one point, with stupendous insights, feats of awareness that are
mythological legends nowadays. And then, everything seems to disappear, and we
have now a sedated man. What I'm saying is that what we have against us is not a
simple predator. It is very smart, and organized. It follows a methodical system to
render us useless. Man, the magical being that he is destined to be, is no longer
magical. He's an average piece of meat."
"There are no more dreams for man but the dreams of an animal who is being
raised to become a piece of meat: trite, conventional, imbecilic."

Thank you so much for posting this.
I came across part of this just recently.
I have the Castaneda books, which I read a long time ago.
I must have filtered that part out.

It is indeed a stunning statement.

There are others from other cultures.
Even the Judeo-christian one, but they are in such big denial over it.

HAHA, I came to this conclusion after reading it in Lovecraft. Basically alien intelligences hijack our minds with theirs in order to learn about the world through us, and conversely limit our potential and lives so they are not discovered.

REALISATION of this is the first step to recovery from this insidious plague.

Re: We have a predator that came from the depths of the cosmos and took over the rule of our lives
That reminds me sort of, of the Pall that I heard of so many years ago.

For those who missed it:

Many years ago, when I was collecting narratives of alien abduction and alien contact for a project, I ran into one person whose story has stuck with me, as it was so different from everything else I was hearing.

The purpose of the project was not to prove or disprove the accounts of abductees/contactees ("experiencers," they're all called now, but at the time that word hadn't been applied). There was no collection of evidence; it was a study of the contact/abduction narrative itself. The idea was to look at the language used and the structure of the account, and compare it to traditional folklore about "fairies" and also to published science-fiction stories. So I have no idea whether this person's account is true.

My informant, a pleasant middle-aged man with a job in insurance, did not seem crazy. He denied drug use beyond occasional drinking and smoking cigars. He had a round, moonly face and the beginning of a double chin; his wire-framed glasses made his eyes look owlishly large. He began his account as most experiencers did, hesitantly, watching my face for any sign of ridicule.

He had met the alien by accident, my informant said. This was unusual, because in most accounts the experiencer described having been chosen by the aliens.

This man, I will call him H.L., was hiking with his dog--a doberman-labrador retriever mix--in a deeply wooded part of the state. He was the only one on the trail, because it was the middle of the winter and the weather was drizzly and miserable; he told me he liked to take his dog out when the woods would be deserted so he could really be alone. Suddenly the dog, who normally was well-behaved, took off into the woods. H.L. panicked and went running to try to catch his dog; he was afraid the dog had spotted a bear and might get hurt.

As H.L. ran around a massive mossy stump, he practically bumped into this strange being, who appeared to be digging in the dire. The being, according to H.L., was humanoid but very thin and had hands "like a tree frog." H.L., in a fit of adrenalin, picked up a stick and prepared to defend himself; the alien pointed a strange device toward H.L., who thought he "was going to be vaporized."

Just then, the dog came running back and stood between H.L. and the alien, and the alien dropped the weapon. The alien communicated telepathically to H.L. that he had been afraid and would have shot him, but that the dog had saved him. The alien went on to say that his people had more regard for dogs than for most beings, because dogs have a unique capacity to love. Then the alien said something about the tragedy of all the dogs dying too.

H.L. said he had asked the alien what that meant. The alien told H.L. that there is a THING in space, H.L. called it "a pall that drops." It is like a cloud of horror that roams through the galaxy. When the Pall comes upon an inhabited world, it engulfs the planet. Under the influence of the Pall, every intelligent being on the planet begins to attack the other beings in increasingly horrible ways. As H.L. described it, the Pall would make mothers eviscerate their children, make husbands cannibalize their wives, make every person do the worst thing he or she could imagine.

At this point I asked H.L. why the Pall would do this. He said he didn't know, maybe the Pall eats misery and fear, but that the alien had told him they had no idea what the Pall was, only that it had devastated their planet and it was now on its way toward Earth. The alien was here to take samples of the plants before the Pall came, because they were still trying to understand what it did.

I asked H.L. what we could do about the Pall. He said he had asked the alien the same thing, and the alien said there was nothing that could be done. The alien said that if his race could, they would save humanity for the sake of the dogs who love us; but that this wasn't going to be possible.

Do I believe in the Pall? I believe H.L. was a credible witness. There was nothing for him to gain by telling such a wild story. His account was extremely different from anything I had seen published, and also didn't fit the usual narrative of abduction or contact. But I don't know.

I hadn't thought about this in years, but I saw H.L.'s picture in the obituaries today, so I don't think he'd mind if I told the story. RIP Mr. H.L., you are in the only place the Pall can't ever get you.

I serve the Ornithocracy.

For me the jury's still out on the authenticity of Carlos' works. Many people think he was a hoaxer, and that the shamanic system he describes in his books is a pot pourri of different teachings from around the world. Whether this is true or not, I have avidly read everything he has written, to the point of starting some books again as soon as I had finished them. Fortunately, as ordinary people, we will never know the truth or otherwise about don Juans' predators. Fantastic stuff !

Re: We have a predator that came from the depths of the cosmos and took over the rule of our lives
''Gnostic writings contain descriptions of alien predators called Archons, Arkontai in Greek. The texts from Nag Hammadi describe them as heavy, elusive, shadowy creatures. The most common name for them is “beings of the likeness, shadow-creatures.” Could the Archons be compared to the “mud shadows” described by Don Juan? This question raises the general issue of parallels between Don Juan’s Central American Toltec shamanism and the shamanism of the Mystery Schools of ancient Europe. Let’s consider some of these parallels.

First, there is the matter of the influence of the predators or flyers on humanity. In The Active Side of Infinity, Don Juan tells Castaneda that “the predators give us their mind, which becomes our mind.” This alarming statement suggests an immediate parallel to Gnostic teachings. Gnostics, who directed the Mystery Schools of the Near East in antiquity, taught that the true mind of human beings, nous authenticos, is part of the cosmic intelligence that pervades nature, but due to the intrusion of the Archons, this “native mind” or "native genius" can be subverted and even occupied by another mind.

They warned that the Archons invade the human psyche, they intrude mentally and psychologically, although they may also confront us physically as well. Their main impact, however, is in our mental syntax, in our paradigms and beliefs, exactly as Don Juan says of the flyers.

Don Juan tells Castaneda that the predator’s mind is “a cheap model: economy strength, one size fits all.” This description fits the hive-mentality of the Archons. Sorcerers call this uniform alien mind “the foreign installation, which exists in you and in every other human being.”

The foreign installation pulls us out of our syntax. It deranges our indigenous abilities to organize the world according to the language proper to our species. The role of correct syntax in the sorcerer’s mastery of intent is one of the central factors in the later teachings of Don Juan. The sorcerer’s concern for deviation of syntax, and consequent derouting of intent, parallels the importance of language and correct definition emphasized in Gnostic teaching.

Don Juan makes a number of statements pertinent to strategies against alien intrusion. He says that the sorcerers of ancient times “found out that if they taxed the flyers’ mind with inner silence, the foreign installation would flee, giving to any one of the practitioners involved in this maneouver the total certainty of the mind’s foreign origin.” In other words, the realization that another mind can operate in our minds only becomes fully clear and certain when the foreign mind has been exposed and expelled.''

It's a totally fictionalized account of some real phenomena by someone who understands and knows how to work the system. Anthropologists of the region have said Castaneda's stories don't correspond to any real cultural content.

Re: We have a predator that came from the depths of the cosmos and took over the rule of our lives
Pane Andov ('Astralwalker') has written much about the concepts presented here in this thread. I will try to paraphrase and sum what he wrote.

About 12-13000 years ago there was a war here on earth between two highly technologically advanced races that led to the total destruction of both civilizations. This event resulted in a 'fissure' being created in the astral plane above this planet. Through this opening a very negative group of entities entered our dimension and turned this planet into a prison planet. In the public we refer to the highest ranking of these entities as the all seeing eye. Under this there are many other dark entities that do their part to maintain humanity in a prison but the all seeing eye is the leader. This all seeing eye is more than just an Illuminati symbol it is a highly negative-polarized entity from another dimension. The human DNA is a natural accumulator of cosmic energy from the Universe. The astral entities have made subtle alterations in our DNA that prevents us from being our full potential. This allows these dark entities to feed of the excess energy that we accumulate and maintains their survival. Prior to this interference the human being was capable of telepathy, full consiousness, mind reading, and astral travel to name a few. Now that our DNA has been manipulated and we are reduced to a 'double-helix awareness' we use only a fraction of the cosmic energy that our 'metagenes' harvest and this is what these entities are after. Yes we are like cattle for them, food. The source of all awareness in this Milky Way galaxy is termed Hunabku located in the black hole at the center of the galaxy. The drama leading up to 2012 represents the concept that at that time cosmic rays will finally penetrate the dark veil placed over this planet and restore humanity to its original consciousness. These dark entities are aware of what is coming and fear the loss of their food source and are thus attempting to convert all consciousness here into a negative polarity in hopes that they can create a negatively polarized dimension within creation to continue their parasitic ways. In fact, these dark entities are not in line with creation and they are set to be eventually eliminated as their 'experiment' has been deemed unsuitable to continue within the holographic framework of creation. They will of course eventually fail but in doing so they will destroy many human conscious life forms. The number one tool they use to keep us enslaved and unable to realize our true essence is fear. Fear is the absolute antithesis of creation and it prevents us from taking personal responsibility for what we are. Instead we rely on the father/savior syndrome to save us when in truth we do not need this as we are all immortal on the spiritual plane and our time here on earth is just a mere transition zone in our never ending progress towards full spiritual awakening. In addition to fear these dark entities place a veil of forgetfullness upon all new incarnations so that we may not use the knowledge gained from past lives to further our progress. For thousands of years we have been repeating the reincarnation process in a futile manner only to provide energy to these dark beings... hence the term prison planet.

There is a cosmic wave that is emanating forth from Hunabku and will reach this planet in 2012 and wash over it ending this dark period in our spirits evolution. These entities know that they will be vanquished from our dimension and cast into perhaps another highly negatively polarized dimension to carry out further their experiments which are slated for eventual failure anyway. These entities hope to take as many human consciousness as they can along with them into this next dimension so that they can continue their feeding as they slowly fizzle off and die.

The so called Illuminati or only henchmen placed here to carry out the objectives of these dark entities. In return for their service they are given vast earthly riches and power over their fellow man, they have sold their souls to the devil so to speak.

It is in your personal interest to maintain a positive polarity during the end of this great cycle which is now upon us. The chaos and confusion will continue in a crescendo to a wailing roar of fear, hate, insecurity, envy, jealousy, greed, lust... and all other negative emotions as we are manipulated AWAY from realizing what we truly are... immortal essences of the great conscious that cannot nor ever will be destroyed. Eventually we will all return to this great consciousness but all paths differ. Some may be longer than others. All roads lead to the same place.

Godspeed fellow travelers

I would just focus on the Inner Silence which is always present in our being and give it more attention, like listening to a far away sound, getting closer and closer,.. the other disturbances desappearing slowly... it takes practice. peace
