BTW, the appearance of indentation is clear IMO, but could it be an artifact of the image, an optical illusion?
I mean, how can we be certain if it is or not?

In other words they have to say "the dent is only the mark in conjunction with bleeding contrast", or they have to say "the mark is gone and there is still an obvious dent".
