This Honolulu Advertiser announcement of Barack Obama’s Aug 4, 1961 birth was published August 13, 1961 on page B-6. It is available only on microfilm in Hawaii libraries. In 1961, a parent could simply mail in a baby's birth certificate with no questions asked, and no one from the Hawaii government would do a followup to verify that the information on the mailed in birth certificate was true. After the Hawaii agency recorded the mailed in Obama birth certificate, it sent the birth notice to the local newspaper alongside the birth notices of births that occurred in Hawaii hospitals.

However the critical mistake in the fraudulent 2008 forged COLB is that it lists the father as "African" and that designation was not used in the Federal tracking and census forms. It only used Negro (among other race designations.)
