I live in Alaska. My son and I bagged a cow last season.

Cool!! Is that like a steer in the moose ranks? I've heard of a bull moose, but not a cow.

I'm gonna make a Chinese style stir fry, using chicken, garlic, onions, (red, yellow, orange) bell peppers, celery, baby bok choy, brocolli and bean sprouts. Will also make pork fried rice, icluding some frozen peas, bean sprouts, green onion and scrambled egg in there. That's enough chopping 'n shit for me, so i bought some frozen spring rolls and chicken balls. ;)

One of my faves, chicken breasts cooked in a crockpot with onion, garlic, a little Mrs. Dash, pepper and chicken broth. Potatoes, cooked in the oven (the small gold ones, leave skin on) cut in two or three pieces, a little water, same flavoring as the chicken but with a little ginger and paprika, cooked in casserole dish with lid. Excellent, my family loves it. Tossed salad optional

Yum, that sounds like a really good way to fix potatoes !

Cows are girl moose. If you have a permit it's legal to shoot them in certain areas, provided you make sure that they don't have a youngun in tow.

My husband hunts with a bow and had a cow permit last year, which allowed him to get a moose in one of the neighbors' yards -- early am, he was driving around looking and saw this moose so he called the neighbor on the cell phone and asked if it was okay to shoot it and the neighbor woke up enough to say 'sure', so my husband did and then we gave most of the moose to the neighbor since they have like six kids and our kids are grown. We kept one front quarter for burger and froze the liver for my mother and i donated the heart and other organ meats to the food bank as the native people really like them.

Re: what ya'll having for dinner
mmmm I love moose! But we haven't had one in awhile.. just whitetail deer and the occasional steer or lamb from our own farm.
Tonite though is watermelon! It is so hot, I don't want to cook, so we'll have a big salad from the garden, cut up some leftover chicken on top, maybe a little homemade raw milk cheddar, and ice cold watermelon on the side.
The Sam Adams sounds good, but I will have to settle for a little dandelion wine.
cheers!

An Ice Cream crepe.

A crepe shell, with Haagen Daz vanilla ice cream covered with melted Ghirardelli chocolate, then, once wrapped, topped with fresh whipped cream, and drizzled with Godiva chocolate liqueur.

Wow, watermelon sounds good. Impossible to grow up here. Out at Manley Hot Springs they grow really good cantaloupes in the hot springs greenhouses tho.
Only the select few get to taste them . . .

WoW! Do people on this site not eat veggies? Okay, I know there are a few of you, but for the most part, people aren't eating them!

We are having cheese burgers (whole wheat buns) with salad (myself a halibut burger) which is rare for us. Most of the time we have at least two to three veg and potatoes or rice with protein. Wow, very imformative what others eat!

Please don't flame me. I know there are some of you out there that do veg.

Oh yeah, I'm having a couple of beer too!

Small pizza, homemade dough, mushrooms, homegrown tomatoes and herbs with fresh mozzarella cheese.

Glad I didn't make a big one cause it's all gone.

It turned out really well. The only pain in the ass is doing all that work for just me.

The good news is, I made extra ravioli, and froze them for the next time I get in the mood.

I had No. 402 earlier, but I am a bit peckish now. I could go for some fermented curds, but have no biscuits to put it on.

Baked boneless skinless chicken breast (shake and bake ranch coating), salad and I'm up in the air over doing baked potatoes or brown rice.
