Opponents of health insurance reform may find the truth a little inconvenient, but as our second president famously said, "facts are stubborn things."

Scary chain emails and videos are starting to percolate on the internet, breathlessly claiming, for example, to "uncover" the truth about the President’s health insurance reform positions.

In this video, Linda Douglass, the communications director for the White House’s Health Reform Office, addresses one example that makes it look like the President intends to "eliminate" private coverage, when the reality couldn’t be further from the truth.

For the record, the President has consistently said that if you like your insurance plan, your doctor, or both, you will be able to keep them. He has even proposed eight consumer protections relating specifically to the health insurance industry.

There is a lot of disinformation about health insurance reform out there, spanning from control of personal finances to end of life care. These rumors often travel just below the surface via chain emails or through casual conversation. Since we can’t keep track of all of them here at the White House, we’re asking for your help. If you get an email or see something on the web about health insurance reform that seems fishy, send it to [email protected].

I have read it and for me and my family-we do not approve of it or want it-So if they want to harass me for my opinion...well, not the best use of tax dollars. that is a lot of people they would be arresting-many are reading it-that is probably the difficulty-since most of CONgress has not read it-they cannot believe anyone would read that much-they might think the public is so ignorant they cannot read...well, many may be ignorant but not all are and not all are asleep at the helm like those in CONgress seem to be.

o we can all keep our coverage, just as promised -- with, of course, exceptions: Those who currently have private individual coverage won't be able to change it. Nor will those who leave a company to work for themselves be free to buy individual plans from private carriers.

From the beginning, opponents of the public option plan have warned that if the government gets into the business of offering subsidized health insurance coverage, the private insurance market will wither. Drawn by a public option that will be 30% to 40% cheaper than their current premiums because taxpayers will be funding it, employers will gladly scrap their private plans and go with Washington's coverage.

The nonpartisan Lewin Group estimated in April that 120 million or more Americans could lose their group coverage at work and end up in such a program. That would leave private carriers with 50 million or fewer customers. This could cause the market to, as Lewin Vice President John Sheils put it, "fizzle out altogether."



I know from my own personal reading that if one is self employed their books will be OPEN to fed auditers whenever they want...they will have real time access to my account and that does not fly consider HOW POORLY MANAGED THEY HAVE RAN THE GOVT

We all know that the option to keep your own individual insurance is bullshit...no matter how many ways this admin lies about it. And, you have to wade between Obamacare (HR3200), ERISA, the Internal Revenue Code and the Public Health Service Act to understand how fully we are screwed.

Von Campe has founded the national Institute for Truth and Freedom to fight for a return to constitutional government in the U.S. – a key, he believes, to keeping America free.

"I lived the Nazi nightmare, and, as the old saying goes, 'A man with an experience is never at the mercy of a man with an argument,'" writes von Campe. "Everything I write is based on my personal experience in Nazi Germany. There is nothing theoretical about my description of what happens when a nation throws God out of government and society, and Christians become religious bystanders. I don't want to see a repetition. The role of God in human society is the decisive issue for this generation.

"It took me a long time to understand and define the nature of National Socialism," says von Campe. "And, unfortunately, their philosophy continues to flourish under different labels remaining a menace to America and free human society."

He writes: "The most painful part of defining National Socialism was to recognize my own moral responsibility for the Nazi disaster and their crimes against humanity. It boiled down to accepting the truth that 'as I am, so is my nation,' and realizing that if every German was like me, it was no wonder that the nation became a cesspool of gangsters. Until this bill is a CURATIVE model, the bill and the details mean absolutely nothing to me other than I vehemently oppose it.

I read that the really big employers, faced with a choice between continuing their really expensive private medical insurance coverage for their employees, or paying 8% tax instead, will choose the 8% tax option as the simpler, cheaper choice.

Makes sense to me. Good bye private insurance.

There is so much deception here - how can Obama say "oh, nothing will change, you can stay the same, no big deal, nothing to object to here" when the facts of the bill say otherwise? And then, we're not supposed to think critically about it? And he is lying, but we're not supposed to notice or care?
