What's a good shotgun?

I'm buying a shotgun and want to know which to buy. I'm looking for a good home defence/ tatical shotgun. I'm looking at a Remington 870 and a mossburg 590. Any opinions?

Either one will certainly fill the bill for home defense. The Mossberg will already come with most of the "tactical" mods that folks might add, but it's up to you if the increased price justifies the 590 over the plain 500. The 870 comes in many flavors as well. We both know Memphis, where have you been shopping?

Shit will put the victim down without much of a mess. Don't expect them to be breathing if shot in the chest, headshots are instant kill, never heard of anyone surviving a .45 to the dome. Its small enough to allow you to be able to maneuver quickly.

if you want a good auto shotgun, the 930 Autoloader. Think it holds 7+1 shells

I beg to differ! Any knowledgeable shooter will tell you a shotgun is the #1 choice in home defense. Even #7 or #8 shot will do the job. The #1 problem with using bullets inside the home is over-penetration through interior (and possibly exterior) walls.
