It's better than the rest of it that went to very wealthy bankers. It seems many of you have so much hate in your hearts that you prefer that the rich get it over those who might actually need it. Quoting: Reality is BSIf they are going to buy school supplies, clothes, or shoes for their kids ; I think that is GREAT! But by giving them cash there is no way of ensuring that the cash will be spent properly. |

Who can blame them for taking the money, is there anyone here who would refuse it if they were offered it? Instead of getting angry at the poor people and insinuating they are wasting it on crack, why not get pissed at the ones who are stealing your money and giving it to others? |

I don't know about New York. but my state (Missouri) just had a tax free weekend for school supplies. I think this is a great idea. I think the point of this is to get the school children the proper supplies so they can learn to fend for themselves and not on the government and taxpayers for the livelihood. I for one am in favor of giving schoolchildren every opportunity to have a chance to learn, so that in the future they are reliant on themselves. |
