Re: To All Those Who Want For Me 2 Stop My Religious Threads
Please anyone who wishes to judge what a 'Christian' is, at least find a 'real' one.

Are you a real one?

In order to find a 'real' Christian, you'd have to go through all the crap in the new testament, try to figure out what, if any of it, is the true word of Jesus Christ and then find somebody who lives their life by it.
Good luck.

Re: To All Those Who Want For Me 2 Stop My Religious Threads
Man, have I encountered some nasty people on here calling me names, bashing me, insulting my God with nastiness.

Look, I too at one time or another had my doubts in God. But being through all of the crap i've been through and being saved, my mind was totally changed.

I have had so many ugly things said to me on this forum, like go suck your local pastor's dick, go let the man of the cloth rape you. That is just disgusting! What is wrong with you people? Why do you feel the need to come back at me with such ugly words? Does the truth hurt, or are you just some ill minded child who does not no any better?

These same people that are telling me to stop the "religious threads" usually come back with crap like Why Christianity Is wrong, etc.

Now tell me this. Why is wrong for me to speak about my religion, but right for you to come back and post negative threads about it? If you really want for it to stop, why do you need to post things like this if you really want for it to stop? Is that not hypocrisy?

If you hate me and my religion so much, then stop trying to counteract my posts.

I see nowhere on this site that says religion is prohibited. The only thing here that should be prohibited is the nasty foul language that you use against those who believe in Christ.
AMEN!!!

Your god is garbage.

Christians claim they have a real loving god.

But

Billions of christers have been begging and bleating for their god to appear...... for six thousand years.

Their god has FAILED ANSWER THESE PRAYERS,

Their god HAS FAILED TO APPEAR FOR ALL TO SEE, for

SIX THOUSAND YEARS.

Hundreds of generations of christurds have died, waiting for their god to appear.

But their god has NEVER appeared for all to see.

SO.........

ONLY TWO CONCLUSIONS ARE POSSIBLE.

1. Their god fugger IS ONLY IMAGINARY

OR

2. Their god fugger JUST DOESN'T GIVE A FLYING FUK ABOUT ANY OF these silly MOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO cow christurds

It has to be one or the other

I've seen your ugly posts against Christians, and let me tell you something, Protestant, Mormon, Catholics, etc all believe in Christ. Why do you have such a problem with that? And let me say this once and for all...no matter what you say about ME and/or my beliefs you will NEVER change my mind or my faith.
NEVER!

And no, i'm not crying because any of you bashed me, all i'm asking for is respect as you or any other human being also would like. If you or any other member of your family belonged to a certain site, religious or not, would you appreciate being disrespected? I don't think so. You think i'm an easy target? Guess again! All you people do is make me stronger in my FAITH. Thanks and God Bless!

------------------

You dim witted christurds are a plague on the planet. I don't give a fuk what you believe. Your douche bag frog humping god fugger is just an imaginary dumper god.

It's not a real god. It's just a make believe dumper god.

It has zero power, because its just a big Zero.

A piss ant with all it's legs tied up. can kick the crap out of your one hole outhouse dumper god.

Christurds are low class mindless sorry losers. You don't even have a real god fugger.

Your imaginray dumper god is yesterdays garbage.

749918 great post -- we do not live by bread alone but by every Word that proceeds from the mouth of God. He spoke this world into existence, and everything else. His Word is truth -- It will not return to Him void. the Gospel of Jesus Christ is the power of God to salvation. when we know the Truth we are set free. and He whom the Son has set free is fee indeed.

hi MC yes I replied this morning but my iPhone was banned from posting but I could still read threads. so it's better than the total ban but a little frustrating to find a post didn't go through especially after pecking at the screen for 15 minutes LOL

anyway to keep it more brief Jesus gave us the cup of the new covenant -- His Blood shed for many. this replaced the old covenant which the children of Israel broke through disobedience. the law was provided to show us sin, and that none may be made righteous by it. there is none that does good no not one.

Jesus was in all things tempted as we are yet without sin. this made Him the spotless Lamb for sacrifice. His broken body received our due penalty for our sin and in exchange, when we believe He died for us, we receive His righteousness.

by the grace of God we have eternal life when we believe in our hearts and confess with our mouths Jesus Christ is Lord. our salvation is a free gift -- we are saved by grace not works lest anyone should boast. we are redeemed by the Blood of the Lamb. we receive the Holy Spirit as a seal and guarantee that God is faithful.

Christ fulfilled the law -- the handwriting of ordinances has been blotted out -- nailed to the cross. we are sanctified, made holy and complete in Him. we love Him because He first loved us.

in the dispensation of the fulness of times Jesus will gather all that are His to Himself -- and the wrath of God will be poured out. no believers will be left on earth at that time. we are not appointed to wrath. the first bowl judgment is the sore that appears on all who have taken the mark.

the timing is debatable -- but the age of the Gentiles will come to a close. the time of Jacob's trouble will come. and of course the great and terrible Day of the Lord.

without getting off too much into the various strifes and controversies and contentions surrounding timing of end times events, I do believe the time of Jesus' return is near, He is at the very door.

I am told to preach the Gospel to every creature, make disciples, watch and pray, and look up because my redemption draws nigh. if trouble comes I am told to rejoice through tribulations. I am told to count it all joy when I suffer for righteousness' sake. I am told to resist not evil, but overcome evil with good.

these are things I aim at and strive for. I mess up quite often. I guess I'm a little better than a year ago...? and a whole lot better than 20 months ago when I came into repentance.

most of all no matter where we are on the timeline I am to do the same as we've all been told: manifest fruits -- including love joy and peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, meekness temperance and faithfulness. I want nothing more for myself and everyone else on this planet :-)

every good and perfect gift comes down from the Father of Lights. we are very blessed to be here at this time to see all these things.

Good morning RB, I use my iPhone for most of my posts too.

Using the notepad to compose posts has been a Godsend. sun

Is not manifesting fruit a neccassary work of salvation?

How do you overcome evil, if not by doing Good?

When discussing a gospel concept, we must read all that is written about the subject and not just quote an isolated verse or concept. Isolating verses this way has led to the multiplicity of doctrine taught by the numerous Christian denominations in the world today.

The confusion in Paul’s writings about whether works are necessary for salvation stems from a widespread misunderstanding of his use of the word works. Throughout Paul’s ministry, he waged a constant fight against false doctrine. In the early years of his ministry, most members of the Church were Jews; hence, the false doctrine he had to contend with was largely Jewish. Predominant among these doctrines was the idea that, even though Christ had come, obedience to the “works” of the law of Moses was still necessary for salvation. These works involved the outward performances of the Law, such as circumcision and animal sacrifice.

A similar idea involved the Jewish notion that salvation depends on the treasure of good and bad works one lays up for himself during his life. If there were more good works than bad in your store, you were considered righteous; but if you had more bad works on the ledger than good, you were condemned. Furthermore, your good works could be supplemented by the surplus of good works performed by the patriarchs in their lives; this “credit” of works could then be transferred to you in order to tip the balance in your favor. “It was taught that the whole transaction was a matter of contract, God owing a debt to man for goodness.” (Dictionary of the Bible, ed. James Hastings, New York: Charles Scribner’s Sons, 1944, p. 693.)

The controversy stemming from these false notions about works and the law of Moses raged for years, even though it had been officially settled by a council of the Apostles in Jerusalem in a.d. 50. The great challenge Paul had was to convince the Jewish converts that they were not saved by the dead works of the law of Moses, nor that salvation was payment owed them by God because of their good works. Salvation, he taught, was a gift made possible only through the atonement of Jesus Christ.

Later in his ministry, as more and more Gentiles joined the Church, Paul also had to contend with pagan—mostly Greek—philosophies and religious ideas. As the Cambridge Bible dictionary points out, the Greeks were “gifted by race with a keen sense of the joys of physical existence, with a passion for freedom and a genius for rhetoric and logic, but reared in the midst of the grossest moral corruption, undisciplined and self-conceited.” (LDS edition of the King James Bible, p. 744.) In New Testament times, most of the world was steeped in Greek culture and practices.

Although gentile converts became deeply conscious of their sins when exposed to the gospel, Greek philosophy often led them into errors similar to the ones the Jewish converts struggled with. One error was the belief that one could “attain moral perfection by mechanical means, the careful observance of external ordinances and ascetic restrictions, coupled with special devotion to a host of angelic mediators.” (Ibid., p. 746.)

It is in this context that Paul wrote his letters. They were written to solve local Church problems and were not intended to present a detailed picture of the plan of salvation. His letters were sent to members of the Church, Saints of God who had already been introduced to the gospel and the doctrines of salvation, many of whom were struggling with false doctrines and traditions. In countering those doctrines which centered on the outward works of the law of Moses or on the belief that a man can save himself through his own works, Paul used the doctrine of faith in Christ as a focal point in his explanations.

With this background, then, let’s look at the three scriptures in question—Ephesians 2:8–9 [Eph. 2:8–9], Titus 3:5, and Romans 4:5 [Rom. 4:5].

1. “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

“Not of works, lest any man should boast.” (Eph. 2:8–9.)

This verse was written to the Saints at Ephesus, which was heavily under the influence of Greek culture. There was also a Jewish element there which emphasized the necessity of keeping the law of Moses. We have previously explained some of the problems Greek culture and Jewish teachings presented for the Church, among them the tendency to glory in one’s abilities and to trust in the law of Moses for salvation. These verses were apparently written to counter the idea that we can save ourselves by our works independent of Christ. As Elder Bruce R. McConkie wrote: “No man has power to save himself anymore than he has power to resurrect himself. …

“No matter how righteous a man might be, no matter how great and extensive his good works, he could not save himself. Salvation is in Christ and comes through his atonement. God through Christ reconciles man to himself. But building on the atonement man must perform the works of righteousness to merit salvation, as verse 10 [Eph. 2:10] and the whole passage testify.”

10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

No response, yet?

Let's press on. :pingu2:

The scriptures say it best!

... I will boast  of my God.

Alma Chapter 26

10 And it came to pass that when Ammon had said these words, his brother Aaron rebuked him, saying: Ammon, I fear that thy joy doth carry thee away unto boasting.
11 But Ammon said unto him: I do not boast in my own strength, nor in my own wisdom; but behold, my joy is full, yea, my heart is brim with joy, and I will rejoice in my God.
12 Yea, I know that I am nothing; as to my strength I am weak; therefore I will not boast  of myself, but I will boast  of my God, for in his strength I can do all things; yea, behold, many mighty miracles we have wrought in this land, for which we will praise his name forever.
13 Behold, how many thousands of our brethren has he loosed from the pains of hell; and they are brought to sing redeeming love, and this because of the power of his word which is in us, therefore have we not great reason to rejoice?
14 Yea, we have reason to praise him forever, for he is the Most High God, and has loosed our brethren from the chains of hell.
15 Yea, they were encircled about with everlasting darkness and destruction; but behold, he has brought them into his everlasting light, yea, into everlasting salvation; and they are encircled about with the matchless bounty of his love; yea, and we have been instruments in his hands of doing this great and marvelous work.
16 Therefore, let us glory, yea, we will glory in the Lord; yea, we will rejoice, for our joy is full; yea, we will praise our God forever. Behold, who can glory too much in the Lord? Yea, who can say too much of his great power, and of his mercy, and of his long-suffering towards the children of men? Behold, I say unto you, I cannot say the smallest part which I feel.
17 Who could have supposed that our God would have been so merciful as to have snatched us from our awful, sinful, and polluted state?
18 Behold, we went forth even in wrath, with mighty threatenings to destroy his church.
19 Oh then, why did he not consign us to an awful destruction, yea, why did he not let the sword of his justice fall upon us, and doom us to eternal despair?
20 Oh, my soul, almost as it were, fleeth at the thought. Behold, he did not exercise his justice upon us, but in his great mercy hath brought us over that everlasting gulf of death and misery, even to the salvation of our souls.
21 And now behold, my brethren, what natural man is there that knoweth these things? I say unto you, there is none that knoweth these things, save it be the penitent.
22 Yea, he that repenteth and exerciseth faith, and bringeth forth good works, and prayeth continually without ceasing—unto such it is given to know the mysteries of God; yea, unto such it shall be given to reveal things which never have been revealed; yea, and it shall be given unto such to bring thousands of souls to repentance, even as it has been given unto us to bring these our brethren to repentance.
23 Now do ye remember, my brethren, that we said unto our brethren in the land of Zarahemla, we go up to the land of Nephi, to preach unto our brethren, the Lamanites, and they laughed us to scorn?
24 For they said unto us: Do ye suppose that ye can bring the Lamanites to the knowledge of the truth? Do ye suppose that ye can convince the Lamanites of the incorrectness of the traditions of their fathers, as stiffnecked a people as they are; whose hearts delight in the shedding of blood; whose days have been spent in the grossest iniquity; whose ways have been the ways of a transgressor from the beginning? Now my brethren, ye remember that this was their language.
25 And moreover they did say: Let us take up arms against them, that we destroy them and their iniquity out of the land, lest they overrun us and destroy us.
26 But behold, my beloved brethren, we came into the wilderness not with the intent to destroy our brethren, but with the intent that perhaps we might save some few of their souls.
27 Now when our hearts were depressed, and we were about to turn back, behold, the Lord comforted us, and said: Go amongst thy brethren, the Lamanites, and bear with patience thine afflictions, and I will give unto you success.
28 And now behold, we have come, and been forth amongst them; and we have been patient in our sufferings, and we have suffered every privation; yea, we have traveled from house to house, relying upon the mercies of the world—not upon the mercies of the world alone but upon the mercies of God.
29 And we have entered into their houses and taught them, and we have taught them in their streets; yea, and we have taught them upon their hills; and we have also entered into their temples and their synagogues and taught them; and we have been cast out, and mocked, and spit upon, and smote upon our cheeks; and we have been stoned, and taken and bound with strong cords, and cast into prison; and through the power and wisdom of God we have been delivered again.
30 And we have suffered all manner of afflictions, and all this, that perhaps we might be the means of saving some soul; and we supposed that our joy would be full if perhaps we could be the means of saving some.
31 Now behold, we can look forth and see the fruits of our labors; and are they few? I say unto you, Nay, they are many; yea, and we can witness of their sincerity, because of their love towards their brethren and also towards us.
32 For behold, they had rather sacrifice their lives than even to take the life of their enemy; and they have buried their weapons of war deep in the earth, because of their love towards their brethren.
33 And now behold I say unto you, has there been so great love in all the land? Behold, I say unto you, Nay, there has not, even among the Nephites.
34 For behold, they would take up arms against their brethren; they would not suffer themselves to be slain. But behold how many of these have laid down their lives; and we know that they have gone to their God, because of their love and of their hatred to sin.
35 Now have we not reason to rejoice? Yea, I say unto you, there never were men that had so great reason to rejoice as we, since the world began; yea, and my joy is carried away, even unto boasting  in my God; for he has all power, all wisdom, and all understanding; he comprehendeth all things, and he is a merciful Being, even unto salvation, to those who will repent and believe on his name.
36 Now if this is boasting, even so will I boast ; for this is my life and my light, my joy and my salvation, and my redemption from everlasting wo. Yea, blessed is the name of my God, who has been mindful of this people, who are a branch of the tree of Israel, and has been lost from its body in a strange land; yea, I say, blessed be the name of my God, who has been mindful of us, wanderers in a strange land.
37 Now my brethren, we see that God is mindful of every people, whatsoever land they may be in; yea, he numbereth his people, and his bowels of mercy are over all the earth. Now this is my joy, and my great thanksgiving; yea, and I will give thanks unto my God forever. Amen.

The definition of a true Christian is found in Galatians, chapter five, where the fruits of the spirit are listed.
I have known of only two people on earth who have consistently exhibited the traits listed there.

But OP, I'm happy to see that you can spell the word, "hypocrisy," correctly. It's an important word when one discusses the current state of Christianity in the US today.

Re: To All Those Who Want For Me 2 Stop My Religious Threads
no offense, but despite he name "Godlike" this is a conspiracy theory website. It seems that it'd be more appropriate for people on this site to prove Christianity/Religion is a conspiracy than it would be for people to have threads praising "god" or "jesus".

If you want to do that, find a Christian site where you can be amongst your fellow "flock". Those of us who aren't religious are pretty tired of seeing the christians preaching to people on threads, when it has no relevance to conspiracy theory.

Outside of religion, most of us have a lot in common. Religion only divides us when we should be standing together.

There ya go!! "This is a conspiracy theory website." And who's the father of conspiracy? None other than that creepy crawley, satan. So TxGal4Truth, along with a few others, is in the right place. (I haven't read all the replies yet, so I hope I'm not repeating what somebody else has already said.)

Rather than get tired of reading about it, skip over it, go to another thread.

But, ya could also ask yourself why you really read the threads in the first place.

What does the current, perceived state of mind, have to do with salvation?

"Do NOT cast your pearls unto swine." The pearls being the words of the Bible. Swine is a nice word for the sub human dwellers of this board who mock God. I sure won't be wasting time preaching to them. I mock them in my mind for being total losers and completely misguided misfits. Their foolishness, however, gives some time of entertainment. this forum is a stupidity chronicle and I get a kick out of watching and reading what the loonies of the world are up to. "What more can He (GOD) say than is already in his excellent Word"? It's all there in 12 point type freely available to read. If the secular whackos choose to ignore it, I say 'fine'. lol. If you as a believer want to preach to these low lifes, then more power to you. I prefer to interact with genuine people in a search on a one on one basis. Anyway, at the end of the day, we as believers plant the seeds. It's God's job (not mine) to reap the harvest. You'll never argue someone into heaven, especially on this board.

Thank you Tortuga, which is spanish for turtles. We actually ran into a snapping turtle in the middle of the road and that little bugger snapped my finger, but I still took it home...hmmm...

TXGal changed her avatar awhile back. I'll always think
the world of her for posting a new more modest avatar.

My family thinks I am extreme but it bugs me, the
strapless look is immodest. It was a strapless pic TXGal took out. We may differ about our beliefs but she has a strong faith, she loves Our Lord very much.

When are they going change the strapless wedding gown? It's
awful, no elegance, no mystery. It looks like a swimsuit!

I've been to a couple a RCC wedding lately and all their gowns were strapless. What's with that, Mary?

Thanks for a great laugh over your issues with strapless wedding gowns.
Here's pages of beautiful ones.
Lotsa mystery still there.

As for me, I think you know how grateful I am to see your posts. Every christian is different and you bring a unique insight into Jesus and how you understand Him.

I hope and pray you keep sharing your information and wisdom with us. It has truly been a blessing to me and i'm sure to many others.

The people who throw vile comments your way, unfortunately, will be judged by a just and holy God. What is tossed your way actually hits Jesus Himself. May God continue to give you Peace and may He have mercy on their souls.

No, she is not a jewish princess. She wants to be part of the 'club' and that is why she is 'pro-israel'.

I don't mind this woman having her religious beliefs in one thread. What I really dislike, is her compulsion to preach on ANY thread, regardless of the subject. She will manage to find a bible message in a chicken salad recipe.

That is what I call "the religios freaks'. They don't respect the fact that not everybody share their beliefs and keep derailing threads.

Although I believe that anyone who believes in any religion is an idiot, I don't waste my time trying to dissuade them.
I think there's something in your bible about it.
You know, the whole pearl and swine thing.

I think most of the people who want you to quit posting your stupid religious bullshit, are just offended by your arrogance, and hypocrisy.
