Re: CNBC ANNOUNCES FDIC IS BROKE
yea no kidding. While I was visiting my folks a week ago or so I tried to make them see the writing on the wall. All I kept getting was the wall and the response "as long are our accounts are under $250,000 we will be fine"

I think this may be a tipping point

You know something is seriously amiss when the pathological lying permabullz are telling the truth.

Why are they telling us the truth now after so many years of lying?

Well, they are broke- it is a fact.

But, do not worry, they will get a 30 billion loan from the Federal government (i.e., our tax money) and all will be fine... for this month...

Re: CNBC ANNOUNCES FDIC IS BROKE
well the depression could been sidetracked with FDIC .stocks nd banks began failing so folks paniced and run the banks more and dumped stocks and finaly america was starving. causing the Great Depression. .. has no one learned from it. dont run banks it only makes thngs worse. folks who withdrew money last fall and drained banks have not spent the money it was transfered to europes banks and into other safe places sits there unspent...how dumb ..

The FDIC will charge the healthier banks a special fee to refill its coffers. This will add to the stress on these banks, and there will be more failures. Downward spiral.

yer an idiot. The FDIC is the defacto government. It was created by government. It collected taxes from banks who collected from you. It's kind of like socialism for money.

The FDIC already has the power to borrow up to 500Billion from the government. It was passed months ago.

Your government is NOT using your tax money to give to the FDIC. This is where most Americans and sheeple FAIL to realize. Your government however they put money from one pocket to another to another is BROKE. The banks are BROKE.

Any and all money that your government gets is not your taxes. Your taxes can't even cover the deficit.

Your government is hocking your standard of living, your way of life, and your children's taxes just to keep the lie going.

The taxpayer will end up bailing out the FDIC. Don't you see it. All we have been doing is Printing up money for the Banks and auto companies, mainly the banks. The banks made out like bandits.

They ran out of money during the S&L crisis and went to the Fed for a loan that they paid back with interest.

Don't call me a shill because that's getting old.

Re: CNBC ANNOUNCES FDIC IS BROKE
Does anyone ever bother to read the articles they link to, or do they just read the headline on some blogscan?

It doesn't say the FDIC is broke. It does say it may go negative in the future. Hard to imagine Congress not finding funds to loan them again during this FINANCIAL CRISIS!

Morons.
