The two witnesses were driving across country from Missouri and as they drove over a hill on I-70 they saw 2 lights in the sky. They were both immediately drawn to the lights and they assumed it was just a plane. One of the witnesses commented on the size of the plane considering how far apart the lights were. They kept watching and realized that it was not moving. One of them said that it must be an aircraft beacon tower but as they kept driving they realized that it was directly above the highway and it was not moving. All they saw was two lights until they were directly in front of it and noticed that it was a very flat cylindrical-shaped object sort of gray in color. They were both mesmerized by the object and everything seemed to stand still. It had previously been very windy but as they were underneath the craft the wind suddenly stopped, there didn´t seem to be any weather or temperature.
