Yep, their own muslim brothers will not let them out to work in Jordan or Lebanon, but the Israelis give them, not all of course, work permits!! Surprise!!!!

There are a lot of right-wings, fanatic ultrareligious bastards in Israel who thinks that their God is a criminal and cruel one who wants the palestinian people starved without water and food in this giant jail called Gaza.

On the other hand the israelis continue to grow the settlements in Palestine post 1967 borders. They argue that they need to continue the settlements and gain terrain in order to meet the "natural grow of his people". This argument sounds familiar to me. The Nazis annexed Chec-Slovakia with that reasoning before WWII.

No muslim country wants the so called "palestinians" they are like the "gangs" we have here in the US. Hamas are Shite. The people is Lebanon are a majority of Sunnis. The Lebanese government doesn't want them and will not let them become citizens or vote because it would totally screw up the demographics making the Lebanese a minority in their own country. The Jordanianas have the same problem and DO NOT WANT the so called "palestinians" in their country for the very same reasons. NO...I repeat...NO muslim country wants these thugs!!!

I found a review of a recent book concerning the larger context of the thread issue: Victor Kattan's 'From Coexistence to Conquest - International Law & the Origins of the Arab-Israeli Conflict, 1891 - 1949' (London: Pluto Books; New York: Palgrave MacMillan, 2009).

It seems to be a very good read for anyone trying to see ways out of the conflict. Here is an excerpt from the review by Sharif Hikmat Nashashibi:

"
Kattan debunks the myths surrounding the controversy over the 1948 war, and the creation of the Palestinian refugee problem. His central thesis is that the establishment of a Jewish state by an act of conquest was unlawful.

On the other hand, the right of the Palestinians to self-determination finds "ample justification" in international law. The persistent denial of this right over so many years "makes their case stand out from other contemporary self-determination claims."

He describes the Palestinians as "one of the longest colonised peoples in history, " and considers the plight of their various major components: those under military occupation; the discrimination faced by Israel's Arab citizens; and the refugees displaced from their homes in 1948, whose interests "must be considered paramount, whether this entails their return, repatriation, resettlement and compensation in line with UN General Assembly resolution 194 (III), equity, and international law."

Kattan laments the detrimental effect that the conflict has had on Jewish-Arab relations. "The creation of a wholly Jewish state was an artificial construct that was alien to the region and which provoked a bitter conflict with a people who historically had no qualms with the Jews," he writes.

"For hundreds of years Jews and Arabs had lived in relative harmony in the Middle East and North Africa. Zionism and European colonialism were, however, to change all this."

The growth of anti-Semitisim in the Arab world is fuelled by "unqualified" Western support for Israel, and by the latter's violations of international law, such as territorial annexation, population transfer and excessive use of armed force.

Kattan's critique of Zionism, "while robust, fully acknowledges the oppression that the Jews of Europe suffered through antisemitism, a subject that he treats with sensitivity and insight," writes Brian Klug, senior research fellow and tutor at Oxford University, who specialises in anti-Semitism and Jewish history.

According to Kattan, Zionism is not the only, or even the main culprit, in creating the Arab-Israeli conflict.

Rather, a culture of racism and European anti-Semitism, and the policies pursued by Britain, Germany and Russia in encouraging their minority Jewish populations to emigrate to Palestine without due regard for the consequences, are "primarily" to blame, and they have "a moral responsibility to do far more than they have done to date to seek a resolution."

Kattan stresses the international importance of the conflict by suggesting that it has become "part and parcel of the larger struggle between political Islam and the West." However, he is highly critical of the current vision for its resolution. He says a Palestinian state in East Jerusalem, the West Bank and Gaza will be an "unviable entity" dependent on Israel and on "handouts" from the international community.

"If partition is ever to be a viable prospect in this day and age, then it will surely necessitate territorial concessions from Israel,” he writes. The settlements "will either have to go," or their inhabitants "will have to face the prospect of living under Palestinian control as equal citizens in a state which does not discriminate on grounds of race, religion or nationality."

The author also includes a one-state solution "with equal rights for all," or a bi-national state, as possible solutions, and certainly "better than maintaining the status quo sustained as it is by force and violence."

He concludes that a lasting peace is unlikely "unless it is based on equity, justice and principles of international law, which have been sidelined throughout the course of the Arab-Israeli conflict to the detriment of all concerned. In the absence of such conditions any peace agreement is doomed to fail, as evinced by the collapse of the Oslo Peace Process in the 1990s and all the other failed peace endeavours."
