I just think it is cool that even via the coldness of the internet that he has reached out touched so many people with his gentle style and unique wit.

We may not have ever "met" him in person - but he will be missed by this motley crew of diverse individuals.

I know he's is a wonderful place.

Canuck,
usually there is a site on the net for memorials, do you know where that site may be (what is the funeral home name?)

Gooderboy,
you already know my thoughts.
your kindness is remembered.

The funeral home is Stinemetz Funeral Home in Hill City,

here is the link for his obit

By the way I have sent the eulogy on to the funeral home, I'd really like for them to get it in advance so the family can look at it before the service.

Sorry, I suppose you'll all want to see what has been sent.... thanks and blessings to those who gave me material to work with...

I am not much of a writer, but this comes from the heart...

Love Canuck

Hi my name is ---------, I’m from Hamilton, Ontario, Canada and Dennis’ family have been good enough to allow me and hundreds of other folks throughout the world express our sadness on Dennis’ transition.

Dennis posted in two forums and was well known for his wit, humour, spiritual commentary and loving kind style which will be sorely missed. When I think of Gooderboy….. that’s the name he used on the forums, I think of a boy/man, a simple but very wise soul, who felt deeply about people, animals and nature, and who signed his posts … “ with love, just me” .

One of our members has this to say about Dennis.

“Sometimes a person comes into your life, and leaves. Sometimes, they stay. Sometimes, they leave an impression that will forever touch, and change our lives. It doesn't matter whether you've met them. The words they say, let you know them in their heart.

Gooderboy touched many lives and softened many hearts. When tempers flared, Gooderboy used words that were gooder than the hatred. When someone needed encouragement, the Gooder words were always there.

Gooderboy had a philosophy on life that few know, or will ever experience. His words often left a person wondering how he could remain so calm, and always leave a gentle touch.

Gooderboy's kind and calm words, always optimistic, always encouraging, will be missed. Though we'll read no new words from Gooderboy, we'll carry the words he spoke in our hearts. Though he is no longer with us, he will remain, in the hearts and souls of those whose lives he touched. Forever.”

Another member has gone through many posts and came up with some of the responses made by Dennis to some topics, which I’d like to share with you all….. for those who are unfamiliar with forum language when lol used, it means “laugh out loud”.

Subject: Is Heaven overcrowded?

His response ... no, lol, if it was it wouldn't be heaven.

Subject This will change everything!

His response ... and yet, lol, and oddly enough or not... everything's already always changing any and all ways.... go figure huh?

Subject What is the purpose of life?

Dennis ... to add to and enhance upon the great and wondrous expansion of consciousness.

Subject WHERE IS SATAN NOW?

Dennis ...just waiting to be made the scapegoat, again.... by all those who don't wanna take responsibility for their own shit.

Subject How to save the world? Form Prayer groups.

Dennis ... oh lordy, please save me from them folks who have the audacity to think that the world somehow needs to be saved.

Subject If you could say just one thing for the next 40 years, what would it be ?

Dennis ... more please.

Subject DRUGS ALTER THE MIND WHEN WILL HUMANITY GET IT?

Dennis ... folks always tend to put away their child-ish ways when folks decide/choose for grow up some... don't ya think?

Subject Who has been the most credible on GLP!!!!
Dennis ... shucks, lol, GLP is just incredible, and we're all GLP's credibles.

Subject I hate this world...

Dennis .. not to worry none... you'll get over it.

Subject WE ARE LIVING AMONG YOU

Dennis Dear YOU HAVE LITTLE TIME LEFT... All I need is now.

Subject Another reason not to get married

Dennis ... aw heck... I still don't get it how anyone, but anyone, could have the noive for to even begin to think that it's at all possible for to make some sorta legal kinda contract out of that something we call love in the first place... and yikes!

To me, lol, that's just sorta like trying to lasso the wind.

Subject What is a meaningful life?

Dennis ... the life you give meaning to.

Subject How do you know if God hates you

Dennis ... hey there OP, I've gots more than enough love for to go around... so much so that you may even call it God's love, and if that might would maybe crank your case a bit. Here... take all you like.

The foregoing is why Gooderboy/Dennis was so loved and respected by everyone on the forums. He taught us peace and love even in the midst of anger and hate. Those who are not familiar with forums… well they can be like a large extended family where we share our thoughts, worries, hopes and dreams…. where we console each other when one of us is in need. This is why we are reaching out today to Gooder’s family and friends, we feel your loss, grief and pain. There is a large void in the world without Dennis.

Thanks Mercury2......:)

The following is an email I received from Kathy at the funeral home... it is self-explanatory. I have the bulletin as an attachment I just don't know how to post it on the forum.... I need help with that.

It's quite beautiful and very touching.... in a Gooderboy kind of style and it has a picture of him on it....

Diana,
I will print out and give a copy of your eulogy to the Owen Family. I did speak to his sister earlier and she was thrilled you were writing something. Attached is a copy of his service folder. The picture is on the inside, the Bible verse and saying is on the back.If you would like the real ones mailed, let me know.

Good-bye, gooderboy... rose

You weren't just *gooder*,
you were the BEST-
the kind of guy
who made others feel blest!

You were always positive
& so filled with hope,
seemingly without ego,
as you helped cyber friends cope.

Your words were unpretentious
& filled with the 'wisdom' of years
having lived life to its fullest...
always choosing LOVE... not fear!

You were a fine example
of what we all can be-
a great *lover* of ALL Life...
consciousness evolving exponentially!

Fwiw, i've spent this day rereading old threads
on which we both happened to post,
while wiping away many a tear,
knowing you're one who'll be missed most!

They say, "The 'good' die young."
But, they're wrong, 'cause you didn't die, gooderboy!
For... you'll "live on" in our hearts, evermore!
What's more, thanks for just being you- someone who
always brought us so much Love, Laughter & Joy!!!

'All That Is' consists of a movement and rest.

So, Rest in Peace now, gooderboy,

for you lived your life well.. & *aced* Life's test!!!

rose

And the Master said unto the silence, "In the path of our happiness shall we find the learning for which we have chosen this lifetime. So it is that I have learned this day, and choose to leave you now to walk your own path, as you please."

(thanks ever Msr Bach)
