Is the day of the reported breakthrough of a team of scientists as they had found a way to store pulses of light to store as optical memory for quantum memory devices. They make it so pulses of laser light are absorbed into a cloud of atoms surrounded by a coil of wire. The coil creates a magnetic field that shifts the frequency of the atoms. After absorbing the laser pulses, the atoms all begin to spin at different speeds, depending on their frequency. If the magnetic field is reversed, the atoms all change direction and spin the other way. When the spinning atoms return to the state they were in when they absorbed the light. The discovery is more than useful as current devices couldn’t transfer information from one point to the other with data getting lost or scrambled when it got to the target destination from within 50 kilometers to 100 kilometers meaning that the good reason for why a person had chickens in their house without a seemingly valid reason could have been the result of suchdata not having reached gotten lost or scrambled could have been many of these same reasons.Ways that this discovery is useful is thatit extends distance on quantum memory devices and increasing memory on aforementioned devices in similar ways that RAM memory works on a regular computer. |
