Incidentally, I have no direct knowledge or at least experiences I remember of any previous incarnations, but have been "seen" in at least one by another person.
Anyone have any thoughts on how long we might be on the other side, assessing previous "lessons" and/or planning our next, before we incarnate again, or do you think it's almost instantaneous?
I don't believe it's instantaneous. I believe we are told what we should have done, and why. We learn there, as well as here.
I also believe that people who remember previous lives are close to the end. They remember their earlier lessons, and the distance between the two worlds is closing.
The rest of us who believe, but do not remember still have much to learn. It's the journey, not the destination that is important here.
Quoting: lilmissI believe how long we spend, wherever we spend it, assessing our lessons/mistakes/achievements, depends on the specifics of our most recent incarnation. I have to disagree with being the "told what we should have done" part of your post though, as I see being told what to do as a short-cut in learning; personal realisation remains with us more than being told what we should have done or how we should have done it by someone else. But sure, we may need and get some outside help sometimes with the trickier aspects of spiritual growth.
