Re: Reincarnation and gender
Which makes more sense memories of coming back to mortality again and again for no purpose or genetic memories of your predecessors? I'm not saying that we didn't exist in spirit before we came here i'm just saying that this is the first and only mortal trial and after this we are resurrected and continue on as ourselves because we can't be anyone else. And the gender trading aspect of reincarnation is ridiculous. Our spirits are either male or female positive or negative according to the nature of our core intelligence.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 713625

I believe life is lived in order to learn; therefore, your theory does not equate to full scope learning. if our spirit is able to learn then we would need no physical life at all.
the spirit world is life in simulation, the real thing can only be lived in the flesh. one time is far from enough, and physical life surely exists on other planets as well.

My thoughts on reincarnation and gender are that no matter what gender you are you will not experience a cycle of reincarnation.

And like most people who believe that, you haven't come up with any compelling evidence for why you do, or why anyone else should.

Anyway, thanks again for all the responses, I'm off to read a book then fall asleep, g'night.

I have lived past lives not only as both genders, but different species altogether. Most likely many others have as well, we are spiritual beings first and that means the ability to emphasise with all things. The more we all realise that everything is possible in an infinite universe, the more we understand how we are already all things.

Some days I feel like a baseball bat.

Re: Reincarnation and gender
Intriguing thread. Thanks for posting it, Celtic.

The only thing I really believe is that no one here on earth knows what happens when we die.
It's just not possible to actually know.
No matter what you believe.

That said, I think reincarnation makes quite a bit of sense.

Why can't our souls evolve and grow and change?
Our bodies do.
Even after death our bodies recycle.
They change into other matter....and are different but not gone.

Flowers look like they're dead in the winter....they aren't, really.
After months of no apparent life, in the spring they come back.

And yes, the "soul" is a harder thing to wrap your brain around than a crocus bulb!

If we live by earth's rules alone, our body will be reused in different ways...and tough luck for our soul/essence/being etc.

And I suppose using that thinking I'd have to wonder if we really do have a "soul".
Maybe we don't. Or if we do it's only conditional on our having a physical body to house it. I guess in that case I wouldn't call it a soul.

And if that's the case.....Don't worry be happy? Seriously...who cares what we do as long as it feels good?
If the soul doesn't really exist, or continue.

But, if you believe in a soul, you probably also believe in some sort of Creator, Higher Being... something that makes us more than just bodies reacting to nerve stimulation etc.
And which goes beyond only Earth rules, and takes into account the soul.

If there IS a Creator....

...why not a god/creator...that created us, and also created the earth, not only applying the reusing of our physical bodies...recycling, so to speak, but also applying it to our souls?

(I gave myself a headache writing this.)

And I still don't know what I believe.

Re: Reincarnation and gender
This thread really disappoints me. I thought there would be far more up-to-speed people posting here.

Sadly, this forum has degraded considerably in the past year. This thread is a good thermometer of the minds and degree of ignorance, not only here, but perhaps around the planet at this time.

Hmmmm, well instead of the negativity why don't you offer some insight into the problem. Do you consider yourself to be ignorant? Or do you feel more enlightened than the rest of us. If that is so then please share. I, however, disagree with you. If anything this forum is getting better. There are more and more views being shared on GLP than ever before, just because you don't like a topic or the responses does not make the posters ignorant, if anything it just serves to show how ignorant YOU are.

Well see since you insulted me it just shows you that you don't follow your own advice and give into the ways of others therefore proving that you are not enlightened and easily swayed by the actions of others. chupame

Learn what? You can't even remember the mistakes you made in past lives.

Seems a ridiculous learning system. You have to keep coming back here over and over and over to learn something you won't remember the next time.

I tend to believe that on the other side of the veil, we can choose which sex we wish to be and it is the much harder choice to choose female. this belief was derived when i was in an altered state of consciousness, not drug induced. i have always believed the body contains all the chemicals it could ever need.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 775741

My understanding is that our gender is chosen before we're born based on which one offers us the greater lessons we need to learn. Ultimately to learn balance we experience lifetimes as both genders.

Say you really would like to come back to earth again, because you had such a wasted life and did not learn enough to advance.

Reincarnation?

Each person has his or her own lessons to overcome. Maybe someone can clarify this.

My understanding is that living a wasted life not learning enough to advance wouldn't give a new soul the nourishment it needs to grow enough to the point to be able for it to continue to exist, similar to a newborn baby never getting any of it's mother's milk. There would be nothing to reincarnate. Older souls know better than to waste their lives doing nothing.

Each of us is unique. None of us have exactly the same experiences or learn at the same rate. Thus, we each have our own lessons to overcome.

Anybody could say that

You have read the disclaimer at the bottom of the page, aye?

If I took everything that everyone said here as the truth, I'd be one confused bozo

The problem with most people and i'm not saying this about you but just in general is that when the truth is revealed or offered to them they reject it and come up with their own doctrine of delusion to guide them through their confused mortal state. They do this for many reasons but mostly because it's what makes them feel comfort in living their sinful lives. This world is so backwards and far from the truth that is has to be cleansed almost entirely of its inhabitants because of their lack of understanding of the ways things really are. They go against themselves and the universe and a being who is against itself cannot stand. good luck to those who really seek the truth and not just something that gives them comfort in sin.

Re: Reincarnation and gender
While souls have no specific "gender" they do have their orientations. Since every power in existance exists as two halves of a whole, with one opposing the other *Zeus/Hera* it only makes sense that souls either have a individual or communal orientation. Each can be passive or active but I believe souls stick to the "gender" they resemble. If only to avoid confusion.. But the whole point is to do what work needs to be done and exit reincarnation. I WOULD NOT want to be stuck in a never ending cycle of birth and death. That's all that's in this created world. Even "gods" die..yoda

Re: Reincarnation and gender
I've been wondering about that

I don't think gender changes with reincarnations

I don't even know that I believe in reincarnation in the way it is explained or understood by most

I have read hundreds of NDE's and also entire books on the NDE topic - including some written by those who experienced in-depth afterlife experiences and returned, others by researchers explaining all the data and key experiences by those who reported them

I was surprised to find more than a few references to taking more than one journey to join the living, purely to experience things like love, sex, family, and the many trials and triumphs of life that bring personal growth that can only be gained in that manner, apparently

I am a born again Christian, but I try to keep an open mind because when we are sent here on our "mission of life", we are left without memory of the immortal state or what we knew (and we knew ALL things) - as that would greatly complicate our experience here

So, I do not assume to know all of what the afterlife entails with regard to whether we come and go to earth more than once

I do believe that we maintain the same gender identity, though, from all the readings I did - I believe that is a constant

In my own self, I do find myself often much of a tomboy, but I don't think every woman has to be only into girly stuff, anyway

If one is pondering whether this "reincarnation gender" issue is contributing to the current rash of gender identity disorder - I disagree with that

I believe that can be attributed to the massive poisoning of society through products such as roundup, monsanto foods, other pesticides, chemicals, soy products - all which can alter hormonal balance which can greatly affect gender development

That's just my humble opinion from much study on both topics and observations

I find some of the stories of people who seem to have reincarnation memories quite astounding, especially very young children. I have not totally ruled out if that is spiritually influenced by some demonic source to confuse people, but I am leaning away from that theory as I learn more.

I'm a heterosexual man, but I'm sometimes a woman in my dreams. And sometimes I'm several people at the same time. Sometimes I'm no-one at all, I'm just sort of disconnected consciousness floating around.

Such mundane things as gender identity, or any kind of identity for that matter, don't seem to hold much weight for our spirit essence!

It really doesn't make any difference what either you or I believe. Reality is independent of belief.

I have had a memory of a previous life in which a person I knew as a male in that life is a female in this life.

Other memories I have had demonstrate that gender is not a constant.

You may want to read very carefully the reply of Jesus to the Sadducees in both the Gospel of Matthew and the Gospel of Luke.

Jesus specifically denies ("You are wrong.")that "the resurrection" is the Egyptian 'god of the dead' doctrine of the physical raising of a dead body from the grave; then going on to describe "the resurrection" figuratively ("angels in heaven") as the revelation of the memories of previous lives.

So Jesus taught the Doctrine of "resurrection" as a Doctrine of 'Rebirth', also affirming that John the Baptist was Elijah 'raised from the dead'.

But only those who are not wicked are capable of understanding this Truth. ("These words will remain secret and sealed until the time of the End...the wicked will never understand; the wise will understand." From Chapter 12, verses 9..10 of the Book of Daniel.)

You might want to read the writings on the website under my profile.

Michael
