Sorry to disappoint you, but Reiki is s scam! It might help those who believe in it a little, like a Placebo-Effect.

But it's main Purpose is to trick People into paying lots of money for becoming a 'higher Grade' Reiki-Teacher.

That's my personal experience with it.

Thanks for bringing this info to light. I hope that more people look at it and try to bring it into their own lives. I have been studying Reiki for a couple of months on my own. I got a couple dvds and the book from Steve Murray. They were helpful yet I still didn't feel like I had experienced anything new. I am in a small town and there is not anyone around to be like a mentor. I really think that it is something that you have to practice to be aware of the energies. I have a hard time learning from reading in a book. I need the hands on experience.
I did find this exercise that really made a difference for me in really feeling the energy between my hands. I hope someone else finds it useful as well.

Reiki energy can in fact be sent over a distance by someone who is at least second-level Reiki. But the attunement process itself can only be transferred with a hands-on initiation rite.

Pray to find someone in your area who is a Reiki practitioner. There are tens of thousands of Reiki practitioners on the planet, and the number is growing every year.

Thanks for the reply. I'm in Nebraska. I know there are some practioners in the eastern part of the state, but haven't found any in this area yet. You have motivated me to continue my search and try some different avenues. There has to be someone around here. I intuitively know that I needed that personal touch to really know the difference.

I tried to give my brother an attunement "long distance" (actually over the phone) some years back. He did receive it, although it was very weak compared to hands-on attunements ... and I say that from having given many attunements to students over the years.

Here we go.....

the difference is that the everything we are today is so very different so expect to have different outcomes. As for the energy very early on I started using the 2nd degree principle and have not layed a hand on someone in year that is not friend family or injured.

I liked that since my hands were not on them it was a bit harder to dismiss for a western trained mind then direct contact.

As for the times a chagin I lived on a farm and labored to get my 3rd and have now given then on rooftops, concerts, parks, offices, and now GLP just because someone ASKed.

I knew I was goin to be givin one today here and have to guess the cornhusker reiki 1 is flyin. Hows those hands btw.

Here we go.....

I got about 8 minutes of peaceful sitting since your reply until my 3 year old needed the bathroom light on. I hope you were done in that time. I probably should have waited until both kids were asleep. Just excited I guess. I have to say that I could feel my hands pulsing (not real pulse but a slow vibrating feel). When I opened my hands I felt a pressure on them. My heart felt very warm and there for awhile I felt a vortex of light circling inside my head. It was definitely more than I felt off of the dvd attunements. I appreciate your time so much!!
