itdincor User ID: 588013 ![]() 10/02/2009 03:25 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Have taken a look at the Global Composite Weather Satellite Ifrared Satellite image, at [link to www.ghcc.msfc.nasa.gov] , and must say that the typhoon in question is pretty damned big and intense. Japan next, I'd guess (maybe China?), and then the remnants to the NW Pacific. Where it may well strengthen again and beat the hell out of us here, in the Aleutian Islands. Aw, nuts! Looks like winter's on its way .... Having sat through Hurricane Betsy in August 1965, I am not inexperienced in such storms, and all Filipinos sure have my sympathy. This kind of weather is so bad that it's almost beyond description. Poor folks; hope they can get through this. Lots of Filipinos here at the fish processing plant, and every one of them seems pretty damned decent, at least to me. The Philippines doesn't deserve such treatment, but that's the price for the location. Too bad, eh? ![]() |
