Whoops, post edit because it needs it. Egyptian mythos did shape Asiatic mythologies (and mythologies from around the world). Considering that Mesopotamia was the 'cradle of civilization', how could it not? Africa the birth place of humanity. So on and so forth.

Shaping mythologies, adding to the pot (as it were) is not the same as creation. Even Native Americans (who did not as far as we know, interact with Africans until they were brought to this country as slaves) had dragons.

GET YOUR FACTS STRAIGHT YOU BIBLE THUMPING HYPOCRITE. In fact, before you spout religion, go read the Bible. I'll even match you verse for verse. We'll go King James if that's alright with you, but if not, we can do other versions.

P.S. A dear friend of mine happens to be a Mason. The Masons use the Welsh red dragon Y Ddraig Goch, who is a symbol of King Arthur's victory over the pagan Celtic kings. Thusly, the red is a symbol of CHRISTIANITY PREVAILING over pagans.

Incidentally, I've been wondering why the Bible says "Thou shalt not murder" (King James edition: Exodus 20:13 --and it is accepted that the word 'kill' was poorly translated from 'murder') when:

* "Thou shalt not suffer a witch to live" (King James: Exodus 22:18).
* God kills 70,000 people to punish King David for ordering a census of his people (King James: 1 Chronicles 21:9-14)
* God orders the destruction of 60 cities so the Israelites can live there (King James: Deuteronomy 3:1-7)
* God kills the prophets of Baal to show his might to Elijah and followers during the nightly sacrifice (King James: Kings 18:36-40)

...Hmmm, maybe you're just following in the footsteps of blood, destruction and intolerance. And you call dragons evil????? You've got a very interesting definition of the word my friend. And yes, I could go on with examples, quite easily... your religion is covered in the blood of the innocent. From the beginnings of Cain and Abel to the medieval 'witch' trials to every war against the 'pagans' and 'heathens' and people that don't fit your narrow minded view of the world....
