What gets me is that there are some French politicians who are defending.

It's the usual line, if a member of the public does something they are condemned rightly by the politicians. If a member of the elite does something wrong the line is "oh, he didn't mean it" or "it was a long time ago, he's a different man now" or "it isn't important".

Complete hypocrisy in every elite in every country of the world.

It makes you sometimes want a dictator, at least they tend to tell you that they're more privileged than you openly.
