Windows has made it difficult to live without a solid state hard drive.
Their constant updates... and probably data farming keeps your regular hard drive moving all the time... especially on start up, may take 10 minutes to finally stop thrashing around.

If you can live with a Mac, you'll find some relief. But if you need Windows, and SSD is almost required now.
